I was that incredibly involved community volunteer, too, and if it was a benefit to plan, I was at the helm! I miss that level of involvement here in Florida, alas, that was life in Ohio. My husband travels so much for business now, that it is often difficult just to get a dinner with friends on the calendar! So many of the blogs you mentioned are ones that I too, have followed along for years now! A couple more of my favorites are Home is Where the Boat is and Between Naps on the Porch.
