One of the things I enjoy sharing most are fashion finds, pieces that give you effortless style to feel beautiful about.
This Spring I have finding more outfits than usual that I want to pair with white shoes.
This Winter I picked up a pair of New Balance for my trip to Germany in December where I visited my daughter, who lives there, and explored Christmas Markets.
My shoes stayed pretty clean the whole time even with walking busy streets for miles and miles each day and even a hike through the Black Forest.
Find tips for cleaning white shoes at the bottom of this post.
Here are some other favorites I’ve found:
Sperry Crest Vibe Washed Linen
Vagabond Shoemakers Zoe Leather Platform Sneaker
Timberland Stone Street Boat Shoes
Converse Women’s Chuck Taylor All Star Shoreline Slip-on Low Top Sneaker
Keds Platform Lug Lace Up Eyelet
There are beautiful white sandals too.
Birkenstock Madrid Big Buckle Leather
You can’t go wrong with any of these options for around town, running errands, meeting up with friends or travel.
Keeping White Shoes Clean
White shoes can easily be scuffed and dirtied.
Like a new car coming off the lot, they are really only perfectly white when you pull them out of the box.
But there are easy ways to spot clean and keep them looking clean and fresh.
Protector
It’s a great idea from the get go to spray your new shoes with a protectant that will give them a barrier that can repel liquids and stains.and make them easier to possibly whip clean.
Leather
Remember too that how you clean them will depend on their material. Are they canvas? Leather?
For leather, I also recommend using a leather conditioner every so often to keep them from looking old and cracked.
Growing up I lived on a horse ranch in Texas and one of our chores was to clean our saddles.
I loved working with the leather conditioner and how it brought out the beauty in the saddle leather. It’s the same with shoes, handbags, belts and other fashion pieces.
When my kids are cleaning their shoes, an old toothbrush is their favorite tool for a spot clean or to get into tight spaces.
Keep a Tide Pen in your purse for easy stains, but if you get into a bunch of muddy situations, wait until you get home and the mud dries before attempting to clean.
