I’m so excited to be participating in a Patriotic blog hop hosted by my sweet blogging friend Chloe of Celebrate and Decorate . I am kicking off the Wednesday line up of fun Summer tables this week. It has been such a fun tour so far, with tables not only celebrating America’s Fourth of July, but Canada and Italy as well. For a full line up of links to all the blog posts see the list at the bottom of the page.
If this is your first time visiting White Arrows Home, welcome! I am so glad you are here! I’m Kristin, a Texas girl who has found herself way Up North in the Northwoods of Wisconsin living lakeside in a full log cabin home. Our cabin is called Camp Paradise. All the cottages, cabins, camps and lake homes here in the Northwoods have names. My blog name, White Arrows Home, comes from the nostalgic white arrow signs that point your way to restaurants, schools, stores and homes here. You can read more about them here.
I decided to set up my forest side table with many of my favorite vintage items and a touch of lake decor and plan a simple luncheon for four. An old minnow bucket becomes the centerpiece with a simple plant inside.
Layered cake stands hold strawberries and a special treat. I will probably make cupcakes like these simply elegant red velvet cupcakes.
I love vintage juice glasses and these little ones with the red design are my favorite. I’ll be using them to sip wine. I recently found these blue and white soup bowls at a local flea market. They are Flow Blue china. I had never heard of that before and love learning new things. You can read more about Flow Blue here.
The bowls will be filled with a cold Summer gazpacho soup.
I love these fish dishes I found last year. I layered them on top of my Dollar Tree white plates. My tablecloth is just fabric from Walmart.
These embroidered napkins were another recent flea market find. The anchor napkins were sewn by my 12 year old a few years ago when she got a sewing machine for her birthday and started a new wonderful hobby.
I’m so glad you joined me at Camp Paradise and I hope you will sign up to continue following me below. All my followers get access to my growing Printables collection as a thank you.

What a charming table Kristin! I need that minnow bucket in my life!! Those fish dishes are so intriguing. The fish pattern combined with the pretty floral and gold border are an unexpected surprise! How special to have napkins sewn by your daughter too. And, I caught a glimpse of the crochet set too. I have one on my wish list this summer. It has been a pleasure blog hopping with you this week!

Nice to meet you Kristen! It is fun to meet new friends on Chloe’s blog hops.
I love your woodland setting and your table with lovely flow blue plates. How neat to style your table with rustic and refined elements. Those fish plates are so lovely and your blue and white stripe tablecloth makes them shine. I also love how you included the vintage juice glasses for a pop of red. The minnow bucket container was also clever with your fish plates.
Could I contract your daughter to design some napkins for me? They look wonderful on your table. I know you are proud of her!

Kristin, I ALWAYS have a soft spot for using vintage items, anywhere, anytime, and you’ve made a unique twist on our patriotic theme which I really enjoy. Take it from those of us who love vintage dishes, if this was your first intro to flow blue, you may soon become addicted, just sayin’! You’ll start seeing it whenever you vintage shop, and your eyes will be drawn like magnets. 🙂
Love the minnow bucket and juice glasses for wine – perfect repurpose! What a super cute touch of having the fabric as tablecloth and your daughter’s napkin sewing project on the table as well! I love that.

Kristin, you have created such an inviting outdoor dining space which captures the ambiance of your area. The minnow bucket centerpiece is so smart with the color combo you created. I too have never heard of Flow Blue but now I will be on the lookout when we go thrifting/antiquing this summer. Your vintage embroidered napkins are my favorite here. They are so pretty! In this beautiful setting, I could sit and chat and enjoy the outdoors here for hours.

Kristin love your setting. The dishes with the fish are not only pretty but they’re a perfect fit for your lake cabin.
The bucket for your centerpiece is great. Love buckets like this.
Enjoy

The Flow Blue bowls are stunning, love those! I am impressed that your daughter loves to sew, what a great hobby in this time of tech mania…I enjoyed hearing about the significance of the white arrows, Camp Paradise sounds like a lovely place to live!
