Winter Decor in the Entryway

Vintage Winter decor transitions after Christmas in the entry way.

After New Years I put Christmas away and transition into Winter decor. In our home it focuses on cozy vibes and vintage treasures. Our Winter decor in the entry way was inspired by my favorite pair of old red skis.

I bought these vintage red snow skis home with me in 2004 and hung them in my toddler son’s room. I’m still searching for a photo from back then (predigital!) Since then they have been used in several places around the house.

When we first moved to the cabin, I hung them in the guest half bath.

A few Winter’s ago they were on the mantel.

I have collected several more pairs of red skis over the years. I lined them up on the porch one winter. I love how the red pops against our logs.

I’ve also had them in the guest house entryway.

This grouping of red cross country skis found their permanent home on the wall in our guest house.

For this Winter I leaned my favorite pair up on our antique buffet on the wall outside the kitchen and dining room.

I added a few little Wintery items to add texture. I stuck with browns with touches of white and red.

An antique Hawkeye basket holds a brown, white and red vintage camp blanket. I made sure to stuff it in where the fringe would show flowing out of the basket.

A few sprigs of sparkles came off the tree and tucked in the basket to give the illusion of snow.

I love these old red ski poles. I stuck them in the basket too.

A plaid thermos to hold warm drinks and a precious littlecozy sign join a Christmas snowball ornament.

It’s fun to repurpose several Christmas pieces. These little fur ornaments filled a favorite twig basket gifted to me by my girlfriends a few years ago. Some buffalo plaid tissue sits in the bottom of the basket peeking through.
