Years ago we purchased a bar from a wonderful antique dealer. He added a base to it giving it height to match my tall husband. A few weeks ago we moved it into the living room and are really happy with the placement. It’s a beautiful piece and works well when entertaining in the Great Room.
One of my favorite items when the bar is set up for the grown ups are my vintage drink stirrers. I found them on Etsy and it’s a great conversation piece and helps keep track of who’s drink is who’s.
One of the interesting things about furniture placement is a little used piece can become an often used piece. With the bar now in the bright Great Room, the kids choose to do homework or color here. So during the day it looks a bit different than nights we entertain.
My antique tool carrier is used in many ways when I entertain, but when I’m not using it myself it is full of markers, crayons and craft supplies for the kids.
