Most lake homes, cottages, camps and cabins in the Northwoods have a name: The Loon’s Nest, Rustic Pines, Lazy Days… Kind of like naming a boat, a special name for a place that pulls at the heart strings and builds memories.
A dear friend, whose children are several years older than ours, told us a few years ago (before we bought our cabin) that the two best things you could do for your family were to: #1 Teach them to love the Lord and #2 Buy a Lake House. We smiled and thought “yeah, o.k. completely agree with #1” We’ll… now we understand #2. We found Camp Paradise.
When we bought our cabin it was already named. We liked the name (named for the bay out back) and thought if boats shouldn’t be renamed, cabins probably shouldn’t either. We’re building memories!
