Episode 33: “Legend Lake” is LIVE! Our interview with singer/songwriter Miggie Snyder aka the Legend Lake Girl!

We begin this episode by catching up with Erik and me. Erik shares some fun stories of family and some young wildlife in his yard! We reflect on the blessing that is living in The Northwoods and having so much nature at our fingertips!

Miggie Snyder got her start with her song Legend Lake that went viral on TikTok. Legend Lake was inspired by Miggie’s visits to her family cabin and her time at her getaway. We instantly fell in love with the song, and so did millions of other people! We first featured her song in Episode 25: Cabin Cliffhangers. 

After hearing her song we knew we wanted to learn more about Miggie and her story. The story behind her song and time at her family cabin is so inspiring. And so is her advice on finding the courage and confidence to share your art and talent with the world.

Before hopping into the interview, we share the full song Legend Lake.

Beginning the interview, we hear how Miggie began dabbling in music. She shares how it began as a way to express herself and share memories. She wrote her song Legend Lake to pass along memories of her grandparents and you can hear their voices throughout the song.

She shares how she decided one evening to post the song on TikTok and proceeded to go to bed. Upon waking, she quickly learned that her video had gone viral overnight. 

Miggie also dives into her love for the lake and the feeling of true relaxation and peace it gives. She shares the family dynamic at the lake house with all the many cousins, aunts, and uncles that come each year.

Her family is her greatest support system and has been throughout her music career.

From the creative side, we hear about Miggie’s process when writing and producing music from finding the tune to finding the words. She shares about her method to write once a week no matter how good or bad. 

“Sometimes some of the best art comes when you are not intending to write a song at all.”-Miggie

To conclude, Miggie shares her perfect lake day. She starts the day with the smell of pancakes and bacon and ends the day with the smell of campfire and the sounds of the guitar.
