Whether your cottage is your permanent home, or if you “head north to the cabin” on the weekends, many times guests will want to visit or tag along. It is fun to have a record of dates, names and comments to reminisce over.
We keep ours in the hands of our cute, carved black bear. “Buddy” hangs out just outside the kitchen by the entry way. Black bear decor is found throughout the Northwoods because often you may see a REAL ONE!! I have only, so far, seen one from my car; but ask most any local or frequent visitor and they will have a black bear story for you. I just heard on the news tonight that the black bear population in Wisconsin is 25,000!
Our guest book was a gift purchased from a local shop, but any journal or blank book could work.
A guest book is a great housewarming gift, sign the first space sharing your first visit to their home.
You could even use the guest book as a scrapbook, including a picture of a fun memory of your guests and you during their stay. How about a map glued in the back to keep track of all the places your guests have traveled to you from? You can glue in thank you cards guests send after their visit too.
If you have guests that seem a little shy to sign or need time to think, leave the guest book in their room during their stay.
