Episode 17 Critter Collaborations is LIVE! Erik and I share a Cabin Chat about our stories and experiences with Northwoods critters.
Up North, we are teetering between Spring and Winter. Erik and I are excited to welcome Spring!
We start off the chat with a few of my encounters with skunks, particularly our dogs and the Pinterest perfect solution for sprayed pups.
Up next, Erik shares his stories of porcupines gnawing his porch and I share a similar story of a porcupine having my house as its afternoon snack!
I looked down and there was a porcupine! -Erik
Erik also shares his neighborhood bears, a mama and four baby cubs. As cute as they may be they sure do make a mess by getting into garbage, porches and everywhere in between.
Following these stories, Erik gives us a great book recommendation- Border Country: The Northwoods Canoe Journals of Howard Greene. We hear a small excerpt from this book about Howard’s night of camping warding off mosquitos and flies in a witty and unique way.
This leads into my telling of a campfire story we were told all the time growing up as kids that involves my dad, baby skunks, cookies and a night of camping. Tune in to hear this fun story I loved as a young girl!
And that is the true meaning of a getaway is if you can disconnect a little bit -Erik
This opens up a discussion about disconnecting and unplugging from technology for a while. We also discuss embracing where you live by doing one thing each day to appreciate where you live.
Find those little things to do to slow down and connect with yourself, with what makes where you live special -Kristin
And that wraps up Episode 17, catch you next week!
