Highlights of the Week
- If you have followed me for a while, then you know about our city house. When we moved to The Northwoods, we flip flopped life and started living at the lake in our vacation home full time. Since, we don’t get back to our city house often enough we put it on the market. It will welcome its new owners this coming week so I’ve been down packing things away and meeting the movers. Its so bittersweet. So many wonderful memories in that house.
- It was the end of the football season for our Freshman. He had a great JV year and went out with a bang quarterbacking the last game to a victory.
- My parents finished up their visit. The time always flies by!
- I headed to Nashville with my younger daughter for a college visit. My sister came with us and we’ve spent time with her daughter, my niece, who lives here and has been an awesome tour guide.
We spent an afternoon in Franklin, Tennessee and it was all decorated beautifully for Fall!
What I’m Reading
This past week we held our second book club at my shop.
We host a book club on the third Thursday of each month in The Paddle Club.
It has been so much fun and such a great way for people to connect with others who love to read.
This month we read and discussed Wisconsin mystery author Jamie Jo Wright’s The House on Foster Hill.
Next month we are reading and discussing Homecoming by Kate Morton.
She is one of my favorite authors and I’m already loving her new book.
You can sign up to join the book club HERE.
What I’m Listening To
Brandon Lake is one of my favorite singers and he just released his new album, Coat of Many Colors.
Did you see he won Artist of the Year at the Dove Awards last night?
I was able to see him in concert when he joined Lauren Daigle for her Kaleidoscope Tour a few weeks ago in Des Moines.
My daughter and I went to the concert with friends.

Wow what bloody interesting photos the one with all the pumpkins was amazing, there are some really interesting books around as well as some that are not but often you will not know what a book is like till you start to read it, thankfully I rarely come across a bad book but it happens not that I am saying you are reading a boring book but for some reason I started to think of when I read this. Anyway I enjoyed the post as I usually do because that’s how I roll, awkwardly down a hill ending up with a lot of bruises and scrapes just saying.

Hi, thanks for your article! I’m always interested in reading you and your blog, because you have a great command of the word. It’s cool that you changed your house and started living by the lake. I would do that too, because the hustle and bustle of the city tires me. I really thought about buying a house like yours, but now I need to save up. I hope you also enjoyed the visit of your parents – I love it if my parents visit me and over the course of age I try to spend as much time with them as possible
