HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
- Getting to Montana and my parents’ house where I fully relax and enjoy time with family. My sister and her daughters are here and my nephew flew in last night. The cousins have all grown up spending Christmas together here at Happy Trails on the slopes. Missing that two of mine aren’t here this year and realizing that I am in a new chapter of life where we may not always be together each holiday as they grow up.
- Time downtown with Brian, my sister and one of my nieces shopping, stopping for drinks and queso and lots of laughing. The snow is not good this year, there is barely any, such a weird experience. My kids have gone out a little bit each day to do the few runs that are open, but it gives us a lot of extra time. But some of us aren’t going out in these conditions so we headed downtown. (Are you a Seinfeld fan? If you are you will get this. I can’t write or say Downtown without quoting that one episode!)
- Watching old movies. I shared in last week’s posts about how every year in Montana we have had a family video made of the time together and it is so much fun to go back and watch them ALL! It takes us several nights. We also have family favorite movies we love to watch like Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
WHAT I’M READING
I always love to keep a personal development book going.
A friend recommended The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy to me and I’m really getting a lot out of it.
I usually read about a chapter a day so I’ll finish this read in about seven or eight days.
WHAT I’M WATCHING
Brian and I have been back into watching The Crown.
We usually watch an episode of a series or part of a movie each night before bed.
Are you a fellow Crown fan? I find it fascinating!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
I’m listening to the wood pop and crackle in the fireplace beside me.
I’m listening to my mom set out all the decoration options for the kids gingerbread houses. (Understand, “the kids” are all 15-23 years old, but they still LOVE traditions!)
My dad is working on the counter nearby and has The Nutcracker music playing and humming along.
These are the moments, some of my sounds of Christmas. What are yours?
Have you ever heard this song aboutThe Nutcracker by Straight No Chaser?
Straight No Chaser is one of our favorites at Christmas!
ENCOURAGEMENT
Passing on a quote I heard this week and didn’t want to forget.
THIS WEEK’S POSTS
I didn’t have any new posts this week other than yesterday’s Welcome Home Saturday.
Enjoy last week’s posts too if you missed them. I share about my amazing trip to Germany and Austria.
