If you have a trip planned near Green Bay, Wisconsin I highly recommend staying at The Lodge Kohler.
A stay at Lodge Kohler is worth the trip to Green Bay as well if you are looking for just a fun place to plan a getaway to. Green Bay has a nice regional airport so you can fly in from anywhere to enjoy a stay.
Often my travels are centered around not only a location, but a hotel I am wanting to stay at.
Checking In
The staff at Lodge Kohler were so welcoming and attentive. It’s an even bigger blessing when we are checking in somewhere in the coldness of Winter. Their staff greeted us at the doors holding them open so we could come right in and get warm. The check in was easy, quick and centered around the beautiful check in table with bouquets of fresh flowers.
The Lobby
The beautiful lobby welcomes you on the right as you walk in and beckons you to come in and sit. Its decor is stunning with rich green tones throughout rooted by warm browns. The two sided fireplace and cozy seating is so inviting.
You can see Lambeau Field is only yards away out the front windows.
Beautiful lobbies like this give options for quiet spots for just one person working or reading and also gathering spots for couples or groups.
I always say boutique hotels inspire. Styling my home with spaces for family and guests to gather or find solitude is something I love to do too and I love seeing how it’s done by the experts who decorate a hotel like Lodge Kohler.
Traveling on weekends for my son’s hockey is really fun, but it can be draining too. We have some priorities when we travel for sports with our kids:
- Keep our family together as much as possible
- Enjoy time with the team and friends
- Have some downtime for all of us, especially our athlete
- Make some special memories
We don’t like to have the family split up all going in different directions if we can help it. Sometimes it doesn’t work and I have to take one kid one direction and my husband take one another, but any part of it that is in our control we work to stay together.
On the backside of the lobby wall another great moment captured on film is hung as a mural above the fireplace, Packer Donald Driver doing the Lambeau Leap into the crowd after a touchdown.
I love to still get up early on vacation so I can enjoy the beautiful lobby when it’s quiet and just waking up. I take my book down and grab a coffee. I chose this cozy spot by the fireplace to read while I was there.
Courage is Calling by Ryan Holiday was one of the books I read this past Winter. You can keep up with what I’m reading by subscribing HERE as I share each month what I’m reading. It can give you ideas for your own book selections.
My kids loved seeing all the historical Packer equipment, jerseys and memorabilia displayed.
Just behind the hotel is Titletown complex where there are shops While we were there in the Winter there was a skating rink and a tubing hill. Visit their website to see what events, activities and concerts are happening and how it continues to develop and grow.
Brian and I got the kids room service from the restaurant on the top floor, Taverne in the Sky, for dinner and then we went and had a little date night enjoying dinner in the restaurant. We would have taken the whole family to eat up there, but it was Valentine’s Day weekend and there was limited space.
In the morning I got coffee and we all enjoyed breakfast in the lobby from their Leaps & Bounds Cafe. It was delicious.
There were several seating options around the lobby to eat at or work at.
The succulent planters were simply beautiful on the tables. They are just one of the examples of ways I get inspired by boutique hotels for decorating my own home.

The Details
Lodge Kohler didn’t skimp on the details with bold, beautiful colors and patterns in the rugs.
I love how they mixed materials like bricks, glass, metal and marble.
The bench seating had outlets and USB charging stations in them. I thought this was brilliant and so helpful for guests, that they thought of these small adaptations to increase customer convenience.
Green velvet is one of my favorite things so I was of course smitten with the curtains, pillows and sofa.
The variety of textures continues into the tufted leather chairs.
My favorite decor in the lobby though were all the amazing photos enlarged into giant murals and framed wall art.
I love staying in small hotels like this. Lodge Kohler will be a place I look forward to coming back to again and again. Next time I hope to take time in the spa as well. I’ve enjoyed the Kohler spa in Kohler, Wisconsin and it was amazing.
