So many great things to share that have encouraged me or brought me joy from the past week I’m excited to share with you.
I hope you’ve had an amazing weekend full of activities and people you love!
Here’s a little of what’s been going on from my neck of the woods.

I started a new workout routine this week.
In addition to my morning walks, I usually jump on my spin bike or do some kind of strength training or cardio in the evenings.
Our treadmill that we’ve had for over 12 years went kaput a few months ago. We looked into sending the motor out for repair, but the cost was crazy so we invested in a new treadmill.
After a lot of research we went with the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 and it’s iFit programs.
I didn’t think I’d like doing the programs because I usually like to just put in my headphones, turn up my music and get going.
But this week I decided to try one of the programs running along with one of their trainers for what will be 12 sessions. And I love it!
A reminder to me to try new things!
Even if you don’t have the treadmill you can get the app on your phone.
There are workouts in every area you can think of from stretching to yoga, HIIT workouts, walking and running.
Our treadmill’s screen turns so we can do a class on the floor too.
Or we can take the app on our phone on the road. The iFitapp is around $15 a month.
And when you think of the investment in this great treadmill, the cost makes sense. If it lasts at least 10 years it’s around $250 a year. For all that this machine does, it’s a gym membership for your home.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
- A little road trip down to a favorite small town with great shops– Ripon, Wisconsin. I’ll be sharing about it this Thursday in my Thrifting With the Gals blog hop post.
- My friend Diana’s birthday party. A great group of ladies gathered for her white themed soiree, We all wore white, munched on white snacks and enjoyed an almost white pineapple jalapeño margarita (her signature cocktail of this Summer.)
- My younger daughter and I were going to be the only ones home the other night after work so we decided to go out for a mother daughter dinner at our favorite Supper Club, Norwood Pines. It was so fun!
What I’m Reading
I just finished listening to the audiobook ofFive Little Indians by Michelle Good. My local book club is reading it this month and it will provide a lot of discussion.
What I’m Listening To
I recently listened to all the episodes of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s podcast Wiser Than Me.
My friend Amy told me about it and I loved listening to all Julia’s interviews with women like Jane Fonda, Carol Burnett and author Amy Tan and their wisdom as they’ve aged.
