In the corner of the basement family room is a wet bar. It has a beautiful log bar, ice maker, sink and lots of storage. It’s location near the pool table makes it a great spot to hang out and watch a game.
We decided to turn this area into a kid friendly popcorn bar.
The first thing I did was move the stemmed wine, martini and margarita glasses out and replaced them with plastic outdoor goblets I found at Home Depot. They are wonderful for the kids to use.
I found these cute popcorn bowls and tub at Homegoods.
Here in Minocqua we have a fun popcorn shop. Minocqua Popcorn makes small batch popcorn in several traditional flavors and a featured flavor. They also sell flavored popcorn salt.
Minocqua Popcorn sells their popcorn on their website and ships it to you if you are from out of town or want to send a gift. When ordering from their website you can get free shipping when you spend over $25! They even have a popcorn club you can sign up for to receive a monthly delivery.
The special flavors are wonderful to bring in for holidays or parties. They also make great gifts!
This white enamelware popcorn bowl I found at a local antique shop and the glass canisters at Walmart.
The birch walls are painted by a local painter. The wood plaque was a gift from our realtor on the day we moved in. It shows our lake and it’s different depths.
I love the mix of rich wood tones, the wainscoting, green paint and the birch bark mural. To see more photos of the rest of the basement family room visit this post.
