Thirty bloggers share their End of Summer Tours. Home decor, recipes, gardens and more bring inspiration for the season. I’m sharing Campfires + Cockatils + Cookouts!
If you are coming over from Thistle Key Lane welcome! Michelle is one of my favorite bloggers and I know you feel inspired by her post. And thank you to Amber Follow The Yellow Brick Home for organizing this Hop!
We still have a month of Summer left here in The Northwoods of Wisconsin. Our kids start school after Labor Day and the warm August days are still spent on the lake.
I live in a full log cabin on the shores of a lake in Minocqua, Wisconsin, a vacationland paradise with over 1000 named lakes in the area. My blog shares all aspects of the Northwoods Living lifestyle through decor, recipes, travel tips and more. If you are new to White Arrows Home, I’d love to have you follow along by becoming a subscriber. If you are already are, hello friend!
As the last Summer days come and we will transition into fall a few Northwoods traditions hold steady- Campfires, Cocktails and Cookouts.
Campfires
Vintage plaid camp blankets are the best kept at easy reach by the campfire as late Summer evening temps start to fall.
Cocktails
Use your vintage thermos collection to hold cocktail creations. A soda crate makes it easy to carry and serve. I stay patriotic through Labor Day Weekend.
I like to set up a self serve cocktail bar with a signature drink.
I call this one the Paradise Mule after the name of our cabin, Camp Paradise. It uses the blackberries that grow along the lane and are ready to pick each August.
Cookouts
Traditional Wisconsin cookouts? Brats!
I also love to pick up seasoned and ready made Kabobs from our local Trigs grocery store.
Next on the tour is a blogging friend I have long admired Carol of Bluesky at Home and whom I was able to meet in person a few weeks ago at the Haven bloggers conference in Atlanta! What a dream come true! You will love touring her home!
Enjoy the Whole Tour

What a fun outdoor space! I love all the cozy accessories for the s’mores area. We recently installed a fire pit so the s’mores sign caught my eye. it’s also nice to see that your kids don’t go back to school until September. We live in NJ and that’s when our schools start as well.
Shelley.

kristin, P.s. My older daughter’s in~laws live in a huge log cabin they built about 14 years ago on a private family lake in North Georgia. It’s so peaceful and the front of your home looks so much like theirs. I wrote about their log cabin a couple of years ago.

Kristen, your cabin looks like a dreamy place to make summer memories. I’d love to give my kids an opportunity to enjoy a campfire by a cabin like that! I can imagine the fun you have talking by the campfire and picking blackberries. (I have fond memories of blackberry picking as a child here in Houston…nothing better!) I’m glad to be hopping with you, and it was great meeting you at Haven, too!
