We spend a lot of time down on our dock during the summer. We enjoy swimming, fishing, reading and just hanging out. Today I want to share some photos of this fun space with you.

When entertaining on the dock I bring down my wheeled console table. It has wheels that lock so it stays in place. The lanterns are from Pier 1. The cake stands are from World Market. The console, drinks ahoy tray, pillow, napkins and straws are from Homegoods. My vintage stars and stripes thermos holds little flags I found at Walmart. The table runner is from Kohl’s. My plastic glasses are from Home Depot.
I keep a stack of red adirondack chairs just off the dock. When we have extra guests over the chairs can be brought down to add seating and when it’s just our family they can be out of the way to make more room for running and jumping off the end of the dock (my kids can make some huge cannonball splashes!)
One of my favorite things is this bottle opener I found for $1.99 and then on sale so I got it for under $1 at Hobby Lobby. I had my husband screw it onto the back of the bench. No more looking for or running back to the house to open a bottle!
This spot is my favorite chair to sit in and read, soak up some sunshine and watch the kids swim.
We have two docks with a shallow area in between where the kids like to catch minnows, crawfish or on windy days, body surf into shore. Here’s a view of the main dock while I’m standing on the other. The other dock has our boat lifts attached.
Our market umbrella from Walmart helps give great shade on sunny days.
I keep a caddy with bug spray, googles, sun block, etc. down on the dock. A basket full of towels waits for the kids to come in from their swim.
So come on down to the dock and enjoy these last days of our Northwoods summer! Follow along as I share more of our log cabin lake house by subscribing to new post notifications. Visit my last post to see more photos of our other outdoor entertaining spaces.
