A fun and delicious tradition to start with your family is Ice Cream “Sundays.” There are so many ways to enjoy ice cream and celebrate the end of the week or kick off the coming week with a favorite dessert.
An easy way to make ice cream feel special is to serve it in a special glass. I serve it in champagne, margarita or wine glasses, coffee mugs, parfait glasses or mason jars, even egg cups. Using these glasses also helps keep portion size under control. I also empty my wooden spoons out of my crock by the oven and use it as a pretty way to hide and hold my ice cream tub.
Most of these glasses I found at the Dollar Store or Target dollar spot and each time I am still excited by how I can affordably add style to my entertaining . I usually buy between 8-12 of each item so that I have enough for our family or small dinner parties. If I need more for a larger gathering I can mix and match the different pieces.
I found these flavored sugars at To the Nines, a shop full of items for your home in Manitowish Waters. I thought the sugars would be delicious sprinkled on top of ice cream. My mom often serves small dishes of ice cream after dinner parties with a variety of flavored salts to sprinkle over the top. I thought these sugars would work well too.
The vanilla sugar sprinkled over chocolate ice cream was delicious.
The espresso sugar was delicious over the vanilla ice cream.
Keeping these sugars on hand will be a great way to add a simple something special to a favorite ice cream scoop whenever we entertain, celebrate or just because it’s Sunday.
