A cute + fun breakfast for Thanksgiving Morning while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Easy to prepare, easy to serve, easy to clean up! Parade Bingo will add to the memory making!
One of the traditions around our Thanksgiving Day is watching the Macy’s Parade. I’m sure it’s a highlight for many of you as well. It’s the kick off of a fun day spent together with family.
We are usually with a lot of family for Thanksgiving at our house or my sister’s house. So there are cousins and aunts and uncles and Nana and Papa. Those that do the cooking start early and the ovens are all occupied with turkeys and pies and sides. So it’s great to do a fun breakfast that is easy to make, easy to clean up after and doesn’t need prep time or ovens.
Today I’m joining a group of amazing blogging friends to share in the We Gather Together Thanksgiving Blog Hop. If you are coming over from Thistle Key Lane , welcome to our home. We live in a log cabin on the shores of a lake in The Northwoods of Wisconsin.I decided to show you a fun Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Breakfast and Bingo. Thanks so much to Amber of Follow The Yellow Brick Home for organizing the tour! Find a full list of links for those participating at the bottom of this post.
A must have for serving Thanksgiving breakfast is fun cereals in jars. Set out some cups and scoops and let everyone choose a favorite or make a mix. Eat the cereal dry and with your fingers.
I like to include all the Fall flavors. These sliced loaves of pumpkin and cranberry breads work great. I wanted to have lots of different types of breakfast snacks.
Some sliced pear is always popular. You could set out apples, a fruit salad or some strawberries. Anything goes!
Yogurt parfaits are always a hit! Especially if they are topped with Pumpkin Spice Granola in these pretty cups. I found the clear dishes at the dollar store.
Apple Cider is a delicious choice for your morning beverage. These little juice glasses are one of my favorite things to junk hunt for. They are the perfect size for juice or the kids to use.
Using cute paper products is a must. There are so many cute and pretty plates, napkins and cups out there to choose from. It will make for easy set up and clean up!
I picked up some helium balloons from the Dollar Store and a local florist to represent the Parade Floats.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will become a regular reader and subscriber! Next you head to my friend My Wee Abode. I just adore her! You will too!
I thought it would be fun to add in a bingo game. So as you watch the parade you can mark the things you see on your bingo sheet. I would use candy corn as markers. Have a basket of Dollar Store goodie prizes in a basket for adult winners and one for kids.

Thanks so much Lora! Everyone is so hungry in the mornings and we don’t want to add more work or things in the ovens so this is such a fun way to keep the little tummies happy! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

What a GREAT idea, Kristin! Having kids around for any holidays immediately ups the casual factor and I can really get into that. That’s a perfect way to keep the kids engaged while the work goes on in the kitchen.I’ll have part of that danish ring and a mimosa, please! 😉 Happy Thanksgiving to your family!

Kristin, what a wonderful, unique idea! I have “a thing” for the Macy’s Day Parade. I’ve been watching it with delight since I was a kid. Even with lots of guests to feed for the big feast, I leave it on the TV and take peeks of the Rockettes, big balloons and Santa’s arrival. A decade ago, my oldest son’s job took him to NYC. His first year there, I packed up a turkey in a cooler and brought all the fixings to make the feast in his condo. But, beforehand, we heading outside to watch the parade go by — just a few blocks away. It was a bucket list moment I want to do again! What a blast. When the (then) new Buzz Lightyear balloon based overhead I couldn’t believe how BIG it was! Next time we are going to watch them blow up the balloons the night before.
