S’mores are a favorite summer treat, roasted right over the bonfire to your own perfect liking. I like my marshmallow just gooey, not burnt. One of my kids likes theirs lit on fire and blown out so that it’s black and crunchy on the outside. Another one of my kids likes it, as she calls it, “special gold” just slightly roasted and starting to turn a golden color. Many summer evenings end with a bonfire and s’mores.
I love the table one of my kids surprised me by making. He thought I could use it when entertaining outside. It’s something I treasure. He even thought to paint it red. I set out different s’more makings so everyone can serve themselves.
When we are craving s’mores in the middle of winter and the bonfire is not lit, a pan of s’mores bars is a perfect idea.
I start with a box of brownie mix and make it according to package directions pouring it into a greased 9×13 casserole dish.
Then, I take a box of Graham Crackers and layer them on top of the brownie mix.
Sprinkle mini marshmallows over the top of the graham crackers.
A layer of chocolate chips over the marshmallows is the final step. Then I bake them in the oven for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
These bars are an instant hit!
