Summer Picnic on the Dock

Summer nights are perfect for enjoying a picnic outdoors on our lakeside dock.

Camp Paradise is our lakeside log cabin home in The Northwoods of Wisconsin where my family lives surrounded by pine and birch forests on the shores of a gin clear lake. White Arrow Signs point your way throughout our community. The nostalgic signs inspired my blog name.

We spend a lot of time on our dock. I love to sit down by the lake and read or watch the kids swim or fish. It’s also a beautiful place to sit and have a cocktail or picnic.

When I went down on the dock the other day, the kids had an old pallet laying there. They had been building a jump to take their bikes off of into the lake.
I decided. It would make a great picnic table. I grabbed one of my vintage camp blankets to lay across it as a tablecloth.
I brought down my canvas bag flower pots to add some color. My vintage blue lanterns add to the patriotic color scheme.
A few weeks ago I found these yummy cocktails in a can. So we will enjoy Old Fashioneds this evening.
My vintage metal picnic baskets holds yummy treats.
I love shopping my home to find all my accessories for entertaining like this Pelican cooler and the nautical tray.

    I cannot imagine being on the water like that. Seriously, that is my DREAM! I was born and raised in Connecticut and we were always at the seashore. Then I moved to Hawaii and more water. Then San Francisco, water nearby. And then to the desert, Phoenix. Go figure. I need water and this year we are not traveling to the beach due to covid. So thank you for sharing your water pictures and of course, your beautiful July 4th spread.

    Having grown up in Wisconsin, I sure enjoyed your post. The best photo for me, was the sign post, so prevalent on every corner near every lake in wisconsin. your Picnic looks great…and just FUN, have a great weekend!
