I’m thrilled to be joining a talented bunch of bloggers for another Fall Home Tour hosted by Marty of A Stroll Thru Life.
If you are coming over from The Woodgrain Cottage , didn’t you love her tour! Now, welcome to our lakeside log cabin home in The Northwoods of Wisconsin.
I’ve started on our Fall Porch for this year, but it’s not done yet. I’ll be excited to show you in an upcoming post. Subscribe so you don’t miss when it comes out!
Here’s a few of the favorite ways I’ve decorated our porch for Fall in past years.
This year, I’m really excited because all my pumpkins will come from my very own pumpkin patch! I’ve got lots more that are still growing. We brought home a few from our land.
This year for my Fall decor I simplified things. One of the main ways I did that was that I didn’t even get my boxes of Fall Decor out of storage!
I have a storage unit for my Shop that I also store some of the kids old toys I’m keeping for when I become a grandma some day. I also keep my extra seasonal decor there.
We are the second owners of our cabin. The couple that built it, built it as a vacation home, then ten years ago we bought it as our vacation home. That meant the house was built with minimal storage spaces.
So the storage unit helps.
I love my Fall Decor I’ve had for years. I typically buy things that I will use over and over again, but I found a few things over the past few weeks by accident that are giving me just enough Fall Decor. And I’m liking it simple, and honestly not having to lug my boxes home!
When I was at Walmart I saw some pretty faux flowers in pale pinks and oranges. I was just drawn to them. Then after Walmart I rant to The Dollar Tree to grab somethings for a care package for my college daughter and found some faux flowers, berries, and sprays there too.
I also put an arrangement of all the flowers in a pitcher in the kitchen. The pitcher was one of my #thriftingwiththegals finds. Follow along in Instagram stories each Wednesday as my friends from around the country and I share our thrifted treasures.
On the mantel i just leaned three of my vintage magazine prints, You’ll find decor like this on my Shop website.
The two arrangements of wheat I actually found in Walmart tonight. Our Fall decor there has been slowly coming in. They had a few cute wreaths and these wheat bunches. I grabbed two to use on my mantel. I wanted something natural and taller and slim.
One of the things i do each season to give a quick update is change the throw pillows. I shop my house for ones in certain colors. I loved these I grabbed offf our bed.
Here’s a view from this Summer.

It’s always hard for me to pick a favorite thing in your cabin since you have so many great vintage pieces, but this time I’d have to say it’s your glider! I have so many fond memories of sitting on my grandmother’s porch and snapping green beans on hers. Happy Fall!

How fun to hear those memories! I love it Christy!
