THRIFTING WITH THE GALS
It’s such fun to share thrifting adventures over on Instagram Stories and here on my blog as I shop my local antique shops in Minocqua, Wisconsin and on my travels.
I join my Thrifting With The Gals friends too as they share from where they live in Vermont and Maine, North Carolina, and Florida.
Search our hashtag #thriftingwiththegals to follow along.
I love passing on the storied adventures to you as each gal shares.
My Thrifting With the Gals cohosts come together each month for a blog hop to share how we are decorating with our treasures in our own homes.
There’s so much inspiration each time and some amazing upcycling and craft projects too.
Thanks so much to Ann Dabbling & Decorating for getting this fun group started years ago.

WELCOME TO CAMP PARADISE
Welcome to our Wisconsin lakeside log cabin home where I love decorating all year round with my thrifted finds.
My decor is a mix of new classic pieces, family heirlooms and gathered finds thrifted, old and nostalgic brought together to tell the story of a home.
Our cabin home is full of memories and items that speak to my heart.
At my shop one of our phrases is “We make room for the things and people we love.”
And that is so true in our cabin.
There are pieces that I have come across since we bought our cabin that are special, unique and perfect for our rustic home of logs.
When I am out shopping in antique shops I sometimes have a wish list, but more often I am walking around and seeing what calls out to me.
On one such adventure I found this little cabin music box.
I’m not sure what the song is that plays, but I thought it was the sweetest piece with its little green shutters.
It’s been a fun piece to style in vignettes seasonally and year round.
Every cabin needs a collection of Log Cabin syrup containers.
Having a collection makes shopping antique stores even more fun.
Many of my collections like my milk glass, my thermos and these old syrup holders make for interesting hunts because there are such a variety of pieces to come across and they are affordable.
Here’s a post I shared about inexpensive collections to start.
Pancakes are one of our favorite breakfasts around here, especially on weekends.
Here’s a favorite pancake recipe loved by all our family.
This cute little bank I found one day and knew I wanted to bring it home to sit on a stack of book.
And speaking of books, I always have my eye out for old books with cabin titles.
I also look for lake, forest and woodland titles too.
There are lots of items that are perfect for the cabin that aren’t tilted or shaped like one too.
Having a wooden nut bowl like this with a cracker and pics in it is a must.
So is a cribbage board.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Next up you are headed over to my friend Robyn’s at Robyn’s French Nest to get inspiration for styling open shelves. Her kitchen is so beautiful!

Your shop is so adorable; I love the trees outside; do they ever blow away, though? I would never be able to keep them standing. Super cute Kristin!

We just had them out around the holidays during events, otherwise they don’t stay outside for exactly that reason. We don’t want to keep chasing them! LOL!
