Thanks so much to Marty of A Stroll Thru Life for organizing this tour and including me. I’m so honored to join this group of talented ladies.
Each day this week five bloggers have been sharing Summer home tours and inspiration. You’ll find links to them all at the bottom of this post.
I kick off this Friday’s hop where you will find beautiful ideas to incorporate into your own decor. If you are circling back to the beginning of this day you have just been over at Amy Sadler Designs.
Welcome to Camp Paradise
Welcome now to The Northwoods of Wisconsin and our lakeside log cabin home. We love living here in every season, but there sure is something special about Summer. Lots of our time is spent out on the water, on the dock and in our outdoor spaces.
The Back Patio
Most often you will find us on the back patio lounging in our seating area. We rebuilt the patio to have room for more seating and designed it into the landscape. This way we are surrounded by the privacy of the forest, but also have beautiful views of the lake.
You can read about our patio remodeling project in THIS POST and THIS POST.
We grill out most nights so eating outside and lingering around the table makes for extra special memories. String lights up above and the fire pit just below add to the ambiance.
The grill and outside bar are adjacent to the table so make it an easy place to set up a buffet.
The Driveway
When I am setting up our outdoor spaces I even include the driveway. We actually spend time by it watching the kids play basketball or other activities.
Around our circle drive sits the main cabin, a garage and then the guest house making a beautiful flow. Brian keeps a grill by the guest house porch facing the driveway. We like to all hang out together so he will grill wherever the kids are hanging out or vice versa, we will go hang out by where he is grilling.
So, I set up a table and some Adirondack chairs along the driveway by the guest house grill. It also makes for great courtside seats.
The Deck
Just off the breakfast room and dining room is the back deck. It’s a great spot to lounge or enjoy my morning coffee.
Geraniums are one of my favorite summer flowers and I love them in hanging baskets out front and on the deck. Read more about my geraniums in THIS POST.
The Back Yard
We are the second owners of our lake house. When we bought it the backyard was just left wild. With five young kids and making the cabin our full time home, we wanted to make the space a usable, fun play space for the kids.
We have never regretted it! They love playing all kinds of games back here. Kickball, whiffleball, football and more.
Find some of my family’s favorite backyard games on my Amazon Storefront HERE.
