Finding the perfect hostess gift can be tricky — you want something thoughtful, useful, and a sweet reflection of your appreciation for the host’s time and effort.

Thanksgiving, fall fashion, winter fashion, cornucopia, fall flowers

Whether you’re attending a casual dinner, a festive holiday party, or a cozy weekend gathering, the right gift can leave a lasting impression.

Here are 14 creative and versatile hostess gift ideas that will suit any occasion.

Unique Plant or Succulent

A low-maintenance plant or a trendy succulent makes a lovely hostess gift that adds life and greenery to any space. Choose a plant that’s easy to care for, like a snake plant or a pothos, and pair it with a chic pot or planter. If your host isn’t known for having a green thumb, opt for an air plant or a small cactus that requires minimal care.

Succulent Decor

Gourmet Coffee or Tea Sampler

For hosts who love a good cup of coffee or tea, a premium sampler is a perfect choice. Look for high-quality beans or unique loose-leaf tea blends. Add a stylish mug or tea infuser for a complete gift. If your host has a particular brewing method (like a French press, pour-over, or espresso machine), you can choose products that complement their coffee or tea rituals.

Cookbook from a Favorite Chef or Cuisine

If your host loves to cook, a beautiful cookbook can be an inspiring and practical gift. Look for cookbooks that focus on their favorite cuisine, cooking style, or chef. If they enjoy trying new things, consider books that focus on global dishes, seasonal ingredients, or healthy meals. You can even pair the book with a few kitchen gadgets or spices to enhance the theme. A vintage cookbook can always be a great idea too.

You can find them in fun patterns or have them custom-printed with your host’s initials for a more personal touch.

Luxury Hand Cream or Body Lotion

Pamper your host with a luxurious hand cream or body lotion from a high-end brand. Look for products with natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, or lavender essential oils. Flowers

Bring flowers, but have them already in a vase. It’s not always convenient for a hostess to take time away from guests or prep duties to get a bouquet into water and find a vase around her house. Find a beautiful vase in antique shop or thrift store and put a pretty bouquet from the grocery store inside. The special vase makes it a lasting gift to remember.

Homemade Gifts

A homemade cutting board can be both a beautiful and practical gift. If you’re handy with woodworking, you can craft one yourself from a piece of high-quality wood like maple, walnut, or bamboo. Personalize it by engraving your host’s initials, a meaningful date, or a favorite quote. You could also get creative by adding a painted design or pattern to match your host’s kitchen decor. It’s a gift they can use every day or display as a centerpiece in their home.

Tip: To elevate the gift, pair it with a set of artisanal kitchen knives or gourmet olive oil.

Vanilla extract is a classic ingredient that adds depth to any recipe, from baked goods to savory dishes. Homemade vanilla extract is not only a thoughtful gift, but it’s easy to make and has a luxurious feel. Simply split a few vanilla beans and steep them in a bottle of good-quality vodka (or rum for a slightly different flavor) for about 8-10 weeks. Once it’s ready, decant the extract into a decorative bottle, and add a cute label with instructions or a personal note.

Tip: Consider pairing it with some homemade baked goods like cookies or muffins to make a themed gift.

Board Game or Card Game

For a host who loves to entertain or enjoys family time, a well-chosen board game or card game can be an excellent gift. Pick something that’s easy to learn, but still fun and engaging for guests of all ages. A game like Codenames, Ticket to Ride, or a classic deck of cards can provide hours of enjoyment for the host and their guests.

Winter Cabin Coffee Table Decor

Luxury Tea Towels or Linen Napkins

Elegant and practical, a set of high-quality linen or cotton tea towels or napkins is a great gift for a host who enjoys hosting dinner parties. Opt for a neutral color palette or classic patterns like stripes, plaids or checks that will complement their kitchen or dining room. These towels or napkins add a bit of sophistication to everyday tasks.

Shop White Arrows Home Dish Towels.

Coffee Table Book

A beautifully designed coffee table book makes for a thoughtful and stylish gift. Choose one that matches your host’s interests, whether it’s art, design, travel, cooking, photography, or architecture. A high-quality, visually stunning book is something your host will love displaying in their living room or guest space — a conversation starter that blends well with their décor and adds to the ambiance of their home

Gourmet Popcorn

For a fun and unique gift, grab some gourmet popcorn. If it comes it beautiful packaging its ready to gift, but if its not add it into a stylish popcorn bowl. Your host can enjoy a cozy movie night with unique and flavorful popcorn — a treat that’s both creative and consumable.

Minocqua Popcorn, Popcorn, popcorn bar, popcorn bowl, specialty popcorn

Drink Stirrers

Elevate your host’s cocktail game with a set of stylish drink stirrers. Whimsical designs like whether a mismatched set of vintage swizzles or new options, drink stirrers add a fun and functional touch to any drink. It’s a small gift that can make a big impression at their next gathering.

Candles

A luxurious, artisanal candle is always a safe bet, but why not give a candle that goes beyond just a pretty scent? Choose one with an unusual or seasonal fragrance, like rosemary and pine for winter, lavender and lemon for spring, or even whiskey and vanilla for a cozy, warm vibe. You could also consider a candle in an interesting container — perhaps a vintage glass or a hand-thrown ceramic vessel — that can be repurposed once the wax is gone. Include a decorative container of matches.

cozy cabin, Northern Lights candle, log cabin, cottage

A Fine Bottle of Liquor

For the host who enjoys a good drink, a bottle of high-quality liquor can be an excellent gift. Consider a bottle of their favorite spirit, whether that’s a classic bottle of whiskey, aged rum, premium tequila, or artisanal gin. You could also look for limited-edition releases, rare vintages, or local craft spirits to make it extra special. Pair it with a set of fancy cocktail glasses or an elegant decanter for a truly impressive gift.

No matter what you choose, the best hostess gifts reflect thoughtfulness and gratitude.

The key is to tailor the gift to the host’s personal tastes and interests.

By selecting something that shows you know and appreciate them, you’re sure to make your host feel special and loved.

Happy gifting!

Cranberries aren’t just for the Thanksgiving table; they can also be a vibrant, seasonal way to add natural beauty to your home decor. Whether you’re hosting a festive dinner, decking the halls for the holidays, or simply looking for a way to bring the cozy charm of winter indoors, cranberries can serve as both a decorative and aromatic element. Here’s how to use these brilliant red berries to add a pop of color and a dash of holiday spirit to your home.

One of the many special things about living in the Northwoods is that there are cranberry farms here. I shared in THIS POST about visiting one.

My friend’s husband is a fourth generation cranberry farmer and I have been able to take tours there and join in for events like Cocktails in the Cranberries where we were able to don waders and walk right into the flooded berries.

My favorite aspects of all these decor ideas is how quickly, easily and affordably they come together.

Cranberry Centerpiece

This is the perfect way to showcase a beautiful and nostalgic antique. Old cranberry scoops can be found in many sizes and made of metal or wood.

Cranberry Decorating for the Holidays

How to:

  • I took an antique cranberry scoop and filled it with faux evergreens, florals, feathers and cranberries. See the details in THIS POST.

Cranberry Tree

The look of this tree is perfect as a table centerpiece or on the sideboard as a focal point among trays of apps.

How to:

  • Grab a styrofoam cone at a hobby shop and using hot glue attach cranberries around the entire shape.
  • Set the finished cone inside a wreath of greens.

Cranberry Garland

A cranberry garland is a timeless and simple way to bring seasonal warmth to your home. Stringing cranberries onto twine or a fine wire is easy, and the end result is striking. You can drape the garland across a mantel, hang it on your Christmas tree, or even hang it around door frames or windows for an extra touch of festivity.

How-to:

  • Thread fresh or dried cranberries onto a needle and string, leaving a small gap between each berry for a natural, rustic look. If you want to preserve them longer, use a needle and thread, or invest in a small, delicate wire for a more polished finish.
  • For a more sophisticated look, mix in small pinecones, popcorn, or cinnamon sticks to add texture and fragrance.

Mixed with Bay Leaves and Oranges

Cranberry Wreath

For a simple, DIY holiday decoration, make cranberry-infused ornaments that add a touch of natural beauty to your Christmas tree. These can be made by threading cranberries onto thin wire or fishing line to form a circular shape.

How-to:

  • Carefully thread cranberries onto a sturdy string or wire to create a small loop or circular shape.
  • Hang the cranberry loop directly onto the tree branches or around the edges of wreaths and garlands for an easy and charming display.

Mixed with Pinecones

The rustic simplicity of this arrangement takes seconds and can stay out all the way through Winter.

How to:

  • Find a favorite container like an enamelware bowl and fill it with pinecones.
  • Tuck in faux berries.

In a Vase

Give the illusion of a vase full of berries with this simple tip. Its a beautiful way to show of a festive holiday bunch of blooms.

How to:

  • Find a large clear vase or canister and add a smaller one filled with water inside.
  • Fill the space between the two canisters with cranberries.
  • Add a bouquet to the inside canister of water.

Floating with Evergreens and Candlelight

This easy DIY can be done with just one candlelight vase added in a vignette or several in a grouping on the coffee table or a line down the middle of the dining room table.

How to:

  • Pull out a mason jar or clear vase
  • Add water, then pieces of evergreen, some cranberries and top with a tea light.

In an Ornament

What an easy project this is with kids or your girlfriends. They can make a great addition to a gift or as a tree filler.

How to:

  • Pick up a few clear plastic ornaments at the dollar or craft store.
  • Pull off the top and drop in cranberries, a sprig of rosemary. and replace the lid.

On Your Cakes

Instantly festive. Your cakes take on a custom look with the addition of some cranberries and leaves.

How to:

  • Be creative with adding berries and leaves to the top of a frosted cake.

On Topiaries

A dramatic impact is added to your holidays with topiaries of cranberries atop beuatiful candlesticks.

How to:

  • Pick up a few styrofoam balls at the hobby store and hot glue cranberries all around them.
  • Set them on top of vases, pots or candlesticks.

The Joy of Cranberries: A Superfood for the Season

Cranberries are one of the few fruits native to North America, and they have certainly earned their place as a beloved holiday staple. Whether they’re swirling in a tangy sauce at Thanksgiving dinner, adding a burst of color to a winter salad, or starring in a refreshing juice, cranberries offer a delightful mix of tartness, flavor, and nutrition. But beyond their seasonal popularity, cranberries are a superfood with a fascinating history and a wealth of health benefits. But truly these vibrant red berries deserve a spot in our kitchens all year long.

In the Cranberries

I honestly never thought too much about cranberries until the past several years. I knew I loved a glass of cranberry juice, munching on Craisins and adding cranberries in recipes, but never thought deeper.

After moving to the Northwoods of Wisconsin, where there a several cranberry farms in Manitowish Waters, I became so curious, interested and fascinated.

There are farms that open up to tours each year and offer field trips to students.

I’ve been blessed to get some behind the scenes tours and events at one of the farms owned by a friend whose husband is a fourth generation farmer at Bartling’s Manitowish Cranberry Company. They are a proud grower/owner with Ocean Spray. They don’t offer public tours, but have an amazing website full of photos, history and information- a cranberry 101.

Bartling's Cranberries in Manitowish Waters

Other areas in the Northwoods have farms as well and Eagle River celebrates with a large Cranberry Festival the first weekend in October each year.

The History of Cranberries

Cranberries have a rich history in North America, where they’ve been cultivated for centuries. Native American tribes were the first to recognize the berry’s medicinal and nutritional properties. They used cranberries for everything from treating urinary tract infections to dyeing fabrics, and even in making pemmican—a high-energy mixture of berries, meat, and fat used by hunters and travelers. Early European settlers adopted these uses, and cranberries soon became a key part of the American diet, especially during the fall harvest.

Today, the United States and Canada are the primary producers of cranberries, with Wisconsin and Massachusetts leading the way in cultivation. The distinctive bogs where cranberries grow are flooded during harvest season, creating the picturesque “ocean” of red berries that many of us associate with cranberry farms.

Health Benefits of Cranberries

Cranberries are more than just a festive fruit—they’re packed with nutrients that can support your health in a variety of ways.

1. Rich in Antioxidants: Cranberries are a powerhouse of antioxidants, particularly vitamin C and flavonoids, which help to combat oxidative stress in the body. Antioxidants protect cells from damage caused by free radicals, contributing to overall health and reducing the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

2. Urinary Tract Health: One of the most well-known health benefits of cranberries is their role in preventing urinary tract infections (UTIs). Cranberries contain compounds called proanthocyanidins that prevent harmful bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract, reducing the likelihood of infection. While they’re not a cure for UTIs, cranberries can be a helpful preventative measure.

3. Heart Health: The antioxidants in cranberries, along with their fiber and anti-inflammatory properties, can contribute to heart health by improving blood pressure, reducing cholesterol levels, and lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Some studies have shown that regular consumption of cranberries may help reduce the buildup of plaque in the arteries, which is linked to atherosclerosis.

4. Gut Health: Cranberries are rich in dietary fiber, which is essential for digestive health. Fiber promotes healthy digestion, aids in regular bowel movements, and supports a balanced gut microbiome. Additionally, the natural compounds in cranberries may help prevent the growth of harmful bacteria in the gut, contributing to overall digestive wellness.

5. Immune Support: Cranberries are high in vitamin C, which plays a crucial role in strengthening the immune system. Vitamin C helps to fight off infections, reduce inflammation, and support healthy skin. This makes cranberries a great addition to your diet, especially during cold and flu season.

Creative Ways to Enjoy Cranberries

While cranberries are most commonly used in sauces and baked goods during the holiday season, they can be enjoyed in a variety of ways throughout the year. Here are some ideas for incorporating more cranberries into your meals:

1. Fresh Cranberry Sauce: Homemade cranberry sauce is easy to make and much fresher than the canned variety. Simply simmer fresh cranberries with sugar, orange zest, and a touch of cinnamon until the berries burst and the sauce thickens. This vibrant sauce can be served as a topping for turkey, roasted vegetables, or even yogurt.

2. Cranberry Smoothies: Add a handful of fresh or frozen cranberries to your morning smoothie for a tart, refreshing twist. Pair them with other fruits like bananas, oranges, and strawberries, and blend with yogurt or almond milk for a delicious, nutrient-packed breakfast or snack.

3. Cranberry Relish or Chutney: For a more savory take on cranberries, make a relish or chutney by combining cranberries with onions, ginger, garlic, and vinegar. This can be served alongside meats like chicken, pork, or lamb to add a sweet and tangy kick.

4. Dried Cranberries: Dried cranberries are a convenient snack that you can toss into trail mixes, salads, or oatmeal. Be mindful to choose unsweetened dried cranberries, as many commercial varieties are packed with added sugar. Alternatively, you can make your own dried cranberries at home by dehydrating fresh berries in an oven or dehydrator.

5. Cranberry Baked Goods: Cranberries add a burst of tart flavor to muffins, cakes, and cookies. For a festive touch, try adding them to classic recipes like banana bread, scones, or shortbread cookies. Their tangy bite contrasts wonderfully with the sweetness of sugar or chocolate chips.

6. Cranberry Cocktails: Cranberries are the perfect ingredient for holiday cocktails. A splash of cranberry juice can elevate a classic vodka cranberry, or you can make a cranberry mojito with fresh berries, mint, lime, and rum. For a warm winter drink, mix cranberry juice with a splash of cinnamon and serve it hot with a cinnamon stick garnish.

Where to Find Cranberries

Fresh cranberries are typically available in the fall and early winter months, so be sure to stock up during this time. You can find them in most grocery stores, often in the produce section. If fresh cranberries aren’t available, frozen cranberries are a great alternative and can be used in most recipes.

For dried cranberries, look for options with minimal added sugar or try making your own. Many health food stores also offer organic or unsweetened dried cranberries. You can even find cranberry extracts and supplements if you’re interested in their health benefits, particularly for urinary tract health.

Cranberries are more than just a holiday treat—they’re a powerhouse fruit with a host of health benefits and endless culinary possibilities. Whether you’re enjoying them fresh, dried, or juiced, cranberries bring a bright, tart flavor to your dishes while supporting your health in a variety of ways.

Plan a visit to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in the Fall around the cranberry harvest and take a tour. Stock up on fresh berries to take home to put in the freezer to pull out for recipes, to add antioxidants to your wellness routine and to add a festive touch and a little extra cheer to your decor.

Last year, when one of my daughters was living in Germany, my other daughter and I traveled over to visit at the beginning of December for a week.

It was a wonderful visit getting to spend time with her, see her life there, meet her friends and have a special tour guide.

One of the added bonuses to visiting this time of year was the Christmas Markets.

German Christmas Market

As winter sets in and the festive season approaches, there’s nothing quite as enchanting as a visit to a Christmas market in Germany or Austria.

SUBSCRIBE HERE so you don’t miss any inspiration!

These holiday markets, known for their twinkling lights, delightful aromas, and old-world charm, transport visitors into a fairy-tale setting where holiday traditions come alive with a blend with festive cheer to create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Whether you’re strolling through medieval town squares or wandering along snow-dusted streets, a visit to these Christmas markets is a must for anyone looking to experience the magic of the season.

Christmas Markets in Germany and Austria

We were able to visit several Christmas Markets just in our scheduled travel.

It was so interesting to see the ways they were similar and the ways they were different.

My overall memory of these experiences is that they were just as charming, festive and beautiful as I had dreamed they would be. I was so inspired by the holiday decorating and so touched by the attention to detail and community involvement.

We based our travel out of Karlsruhe, Germany and were able to walk through their beautiful market several times.

German Christmas Market

One of the highlights of the Karlsruhe Christmas market is its family-friendly atmosphere with a whole area focused on children’s activities and interests.

Rich Traditions and History

The tradition of Christmas markets dates back to the Middle Ages, with some of the oldest markets in Europe found in Germany and Austria.

The first recorded Christmas market, “Striezelmarkt” in Dresden, began in 1434, setting the stage for what would become a beloved holiday tradition across the region.

Over the centuries, these markets evolved from simple winter fairs into the elaborate spectacles they are today, offering visitors a glimpse into centuries-old holiday customs.

German Christmas Market

We visited the market in Baden-Baden, Germany.

One of my favorite parts of this market was the abundance of nativities.

Baden Baden Nativity

The Christmas market in Baden-Baden, Germany, is a delightful winter escape nestled in the heart of the Black Forest set against the backdrop of the town’s stunning 19th-century architecture and the beautiful Kurhaus (a grand spa building).

Charm and Atmosphere

One of the main attractions of all the markets is the atmosphere.

The markets are usually set in historic town squares, surrounded by centuries-old buildings and churches, their spires rising above the festive crowds.

As you see in so many of my photos, wooden stalls, decorated with garlands and lights, line the streets, selling everything from handcrafted ornaments to steaming mugs of mulled wine.

There’s a palpable sense of community, with locals and visitors alike coming together to celebrate the season.

Angel Mailbox Baden Baden

We also took a beautiful hike through the Black Forest over looking Baden-Baden and exploring castle ruins.

If you can’t make the trip you can still bring home beautiful German Christmas decor. Shop my Amazon Storefront to find beautiful options.

Local Specialties and Delicious Treats

Food and drink are a central part of any visit to a German or Austrian Christmas market.

I have to share, I loved the Glühwein, a hot spiced wine, which is the drink of choice and often served in festive mugs that you can take home as a souvenir.

For something sweeter, you can indulge in Lebkuchen (gingerbread cookies), Maroni (roasted chestnuts), or Stollen (a rich, fruit-filled bread). Trying roasted chestnuts for the first time did not disappoint, they were delicious!

In Austria, don’t miss out on Kipferl (crescent-shaped cookies) and hot chocolate, served with a shot of schnapps for an extra warming kick.

Hiking in the Black Forest

Salzburg, A Castle & The Sound of Music

We took a quick trip down to Salzburg, Austria and stayed in a very special place.

Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron Salzburg

Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg is a breathtakingly beautiful and historic hotel set in a grand 18th-century palace, nestled beside a tranquil lake and surrounded by lush gardens.

The hotel was a peaceful retreat just a short distance from Salzburg’s city center, making it an ideal blend of history, luxury, and natural beauty. There were beautiful walking trails we were able to take right into the city.

Originally the private residence of a wealthy aristocratic family, the palace is perhaps best known as the filming location for the iconic movie The Sound of Music, where it served as the backdrop for the von Trapp family home.

We were able to freely enjoy the regal atmosphere of the hotel’s baroque interiors, including ornate frescoes and antique furnishings, while taking in stunning views of the lake and the nearby Alps.

We spent time in the library, enjoyed a meal in the elegant dining room and ate delicious meals at local neighborhood restaurants right near the hotel. It was is like stepping into a fairy tale or a movie set!

Salzburg Christmas Market

We also visited the Salzburg Christmas Market before and after an organ concert.

Salzburg’s Christmas market, held in the heart of its medieval Old Town, is so picturesque.

The market, set against the backdrop of Hohensalzburg Fortress and the baroque Residenzplatz, is known for its artistic and handcrafted goods, including delicate glass ornaments, intricate wood carvings, and candles.

For something sweet, sample the famous Salzburger Nockerl (a fluffy meringue dessert) or the classic Apfelstrudel. Our favorites were the pretzels!

Want to visit the Christmas Markets?

Practical Tips for Visiting

  • Timing: Christmas markets generally open from late November to Christmas Eve, with the largest crowds arriving in the weeks leading up to Christmas. If you want to avoid the busiest days, try to visit during the weekdays or early in the season.
  • Weather: Be prepared for cold weather! Dress warmly, as temperatures can drop significantly, especially in the evening. Layer up and bring gloves, scarves, and a good pair of boots to stay comfortable as you explore the markets. We didn’t have snow, but had lots of rain. Even in the rain, we were able to fully enjoy the experience.
  • Souvenirs: Don’t forget to pick up a few keepsakes to remember your trip! Handcrafted ornaments, wooden toys, and Christmas-themed decorations make for beautiful and lasting souvenirs.
  • Getting There: Germany and Austria are well-connected by train and public transportation, making it easy to hop from one market to another. Major cities like Munich, Vienna, and Salzburg also have airports with good international connections. We rented a car and had a beautiful, easy drive on the Autoban.

Getting to visit the Christmas markets in Germany and Austria was a festive experience, rich in traditions, delicious food, beautiful handmade gifts, and a sense of holiday magic. I made amazing memories with Kallin and her friends and was so blessed by their sharing of these moments.

Whether we were sipping Glühwein under a canopy of twinkling lights, marveling at the architecture, or browsing the stalls, the experience will stay with us long after the season ends.

I can’t wait to pack my bags, don my coziest sweater, and visit again to make more magical memories at the Christmas markets of Germany and Austria.

Happy holidays!

I love having friends that are also working at living healthy, active lives while encouraging each other along the way.

One of my friends recently sent out a challenge to several us that I though would be fun to pass on to you.

Her mother was a nutritionist and had used this in her practice.

The challenge is to eat over 35 different plant based items in a week.

Peppers and Basil

At first it sounded like an overwhelming task, but after I started, I realized how I was actually able to accomplish this with what I was already eating and enjoying.

What are your first thoughts? Want to take the challenge too?

Here is how my week turned out.

Maybe it will help you see how much progress you already make on a daily and weekly basis or it may give you ideas for how to add in more.

Blueberries and Beans

Coffee

The coffee bean is part of each day for me.

Coffee is such a treat for me, and I even drink it decaf and black, but I love the taste, the smell, the warmth.

In the afternoon and in summer I also enjoy iced coffee.

Oats

In a bowl of oats, with overnight oats, or baked oatmeal you can add in blueberries, chia seed, almonds.. that adds up to four in just one meal. Oats only count once for the week, but you can still enjoy them more days just with different additions. You can change it up depending on what you like. I also love to add cherries, walnuts, flaxseeds.

Baked Oatmeal, Brunch, Berries

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known for its numerous health benefits, including aiding digestion, supporting weight loss, and helping to regulate blood sugar levels.

My favorite way to add in ACV is with Goli gummies.

Goli Vitamins

Some quick, easy snacks

  • A mix with nuts (cashews, pecans…), seeds (sunflower, pumpkin…), dried coconut, dates
  • Veggies to crunch on like carrots, celery, cucumbers, broccoli, peppers with dips like hummus or spinach/ artichoke
  • Apple slices with peanut butter
  • Just a handful of almonds
Campfire Charcuterie Boards

Meals mixing protein and plants

I love making protein bowls adding rice (wild, brown, white) quinoa, or cauliflower rice as a base.

Another favorite option is yogurt with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries.

Baked Oatmeal, Brunch, Water Glass, Raspberries, Mint

Bread

We enjoy sourdough bread with whole grain flours.

I keep healthy options accessible like grapes on the counter and a pretty bowl of apples, oranges and bananas.

Melons

My kids love cantaloupe, watermelon and a mix of melons.

Hydration

Each morning I enjoy lemon in water with a pinch of sea salt to help my body rehydrate after a night of sleep.

Morning mineral water cocktail

Smoothies

There are so many recipes for making delicious smoothies adding in a lot of different plants like almond butter, spinach, strawberries, chia seeds and flax.

A family favorite is sweet potatoes and potatoes and we enjoy them so many different ways, most often just roasted.

We love growing potatoes and many other vegetables in our summer garden.

Salads

Recipe options for salads give so much variety for using different lettuces, veggies, seeds and more. Today I had a salad that was lettuce, sweet potatoes, and beets.

Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad

There are so many other plants that are added into my daily/weekly diet:

  • Avocado
  • Olive Oil
  • Herbs
Sea Salt, Dill and Lemon

Once you start thinking of the options to add into your diet, you’ll probably be surprised how many you already eat in a week.

This can also be a way to encourage yourself to try new recipes, expand your meal plans, sample something outside your usual snacks.

On dark mornings, dreary winter days and as the sun sets and evening falls, the atmosphere of our homes transforms. And we have the power to elevate the setting and how it can affect the mood.

One of the simplest and most effective ways to create a warm and inviting space is through the gentle glow of lamp light.

Each evening at dusk I love going around my home and turning on the lamps throughout.

I have lamps even in my kitchen.

Here are some of the ways lamps can enhance the coziness of evenings at home.

The Warmth of Soft Lighting

There’s something undeniably soothing about soft, ambient light.

Unlike harsh overhead fixtures, lamps provide a warm glow that instantly makes a room feel more inviting.

Whether it’s a classic table lamp, a stylish floor lamp, or a delicate bedside lamp, the right lighting can create a serene environment perfect for relaxation.

Our little cabin lamp is the beacon light that stays lit in our window signaling the way home.

Creating Intimate Spaces

Lamps can help define and cozy up different areas in your home.

A well-placed lamp in a reading nook, for example, can create an intimate space for unwinding with a good book.

By adjusting the light’s position and intensity, you can make even the largest rooms feel more personal and welcoming.

I love this little barrel lamp, one of my favorite finds from a summer local flea market.

Setting the Mood

Whether you’re hosting friends, enjoying a quiet night in, or settling down for a movie, the right lighting sets the mood.

Dimmed lamp light adds a layer of comfort, making any gathering feel special.

Consider using lamps with adjustable brightness or adding a dimmer switch for ultimate control over your atmosphere.

Pinecone Lamp, Vintage Ping Pong, Rocking Chair, Log Cabin

Pair the glow of a pretty lamp with a candle burning and up the cozy factor.

Aesthetic Appeal

Beyond functionality, lamps serve as decorative elements that enhance your home’s style.

From modern designs to vintage finds, the variety of lamp styles available allows you to express your personality and complement your decor.

A beautiful lamp can become a focal point, adding character and charm to your space.

Fall Decor Springer Spaniel Lamp

There are so many styles of lamp to add character like this dog lamp, another flea market find.

Bathroom Decor, Lamp

Lamps aren’t just for the living room. I add them in the bathroom too.

The Comfort of Routine

Incorporating lamps into your evening routine can foster a sense of tranquility.

As dusk approaches, turning on your favorite lamps can signal the transition from day to night, inviting a feeling of relaxation.

Pairing this ritual with cozy blankets, warm beverages, and soft music can create a delightful evening ambiance.

Cabin Bookshelves

It’s a peaceful routine to go around and turn on all the lamps at dusk.

Mindfulness and Reflection

The gentle illumination of lamps encourages moments of mindfulness.

Vintage desk decor, lamp, clock and typewriter

A sweet little vintage lamp on the corner of my desk not only helps me see better, but signals my focus.

As you settle into your evening, take a moment to enjoy the soft light, perhaps reflecting on your day or planning for tomorrow.

This simple act can enhance your overall sense of well-being and provide a peaceful end to a busy day.

Lamp light has a unique ability to transform our homes into cozy sanctuaries.

By embracing the warm glow of lamps, we can create inviting spaces that promote relaxation, connection, and a sense of peace.

So, as the evenings grow longer, let’s make the most of that lamp light and enjoy the cozy atmosphere it brings to our lives.

A beautiful thing about choosing lamps from your home is the variety of styles, sizes and price points to choose from.

What are your favorite ways to use lamp light in your home?

Here’s a post I wrote sharing some beautiful lamps.

Adventure Awaits

My own memoir, Adventure Awaits, came out recently and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to go record the audiobook at a studio in Chicago. It was an amazing experience.

You now have another way to enjoy the encouragement I offer through my story. With me reading it to you, it’s almost like sitting down together over a cup of coffee.

Best Audiobooks to Listen to Next

Here are six audiobooks I plan to listen to over the coming months.

A Season for That: Lost and Found in the Other Southern France

A Season for That: Lost and Found in the Other Southern France by Steve Hoffman is a charming memoir that invites readers to explore the beauty and complexities of life in the picturesque landscapes of southern France. I heard about this one as I was reading a recent copy of Midwest Living Magazine. Through Hoffman’s reflective storytelling, he shares his experiences of relocating to this enchanting region, blending humor and insight as he navigates the challenges and joys of adapting to a new culture. The narrative captures the essence of French life, from its rich culinary traditions to the vibrant local community, while also delving into themes of personal growth and discovery. As Hoffman seeks to find his place in this idyllic setting, he reflects on the importance of connection, both to the land and to the people around him. This heartfelt memoir resonates with anyone who has ever yearned for adventure and a deeper understanding of themselves, making it a delightful read for lovers of travel and memoir alike.

Be Ready When the Luck Happens

Be Ready When the Luck Happens by Ina Garten is a delightful exploration of the joys of cooking and entertaining, infused with her signature warmth and charm. In this engaging book, Garten shares not only her favorite recipes but also valuable insights on how to create memorable experiences in the kitchen and at the table. Emphasizing the importance of being prepared for spontaneous moments, she encourages readers to embrace the unexpected, whether it’s hosting last-minute guests or experimenting with new ingredients. With a collection of delicious, accessible recipes and practical tips, Garten inspires both seasoned cooks and newcomers alike to approach cooking with confidence and joy, reminding us that the best meals often come from a place of creativity and a little bit of luck.

Taste: My Life Through Food

Taste: My Life Through Food by Stanley Tucci is a captivating telling that intertwines the beloved actor’s personal journey with his passion for food. Tucci shares memories of family meals, culinary adventures, and the flavors that have shaped his life. From his Italian heritage to his experiences in the kitchen and on set, he offers a heartfelt reflection on how food connects us to our roots and to one another. With vivid descriptions of meals shared with loved ones and insights into his favorite recipes, Tucci celebrates the power of food as a source of comfort, joy, and community. This charming narrative invites readers not only to savor the stories but also to appreciate the artistry and emotion behind every dish, making it a must-listen for fans and food lovers.

The Third Gilmore Girl

The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop is a heartfelt memoir that offers an intimate glimpse into the life of the beloved actress known for her role as Emily Gilmore on the iconic television series Gilmore Girls. In this engaging narrative, Bishop reflects on her journey from a young dancer in New York City to becoming a celebrated actress, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the set, her experiences in theater, and the relationships that shaped her career. With warmth and wit, she delves into the dynamics of the Gilmore family and the show’s enduring impact on fans and culture. Through her personal stories, Bishop not only celebrates the joy of storytelling but also emphasizes the importance of family, love, and resilience, making this memoir a delightful read for longtime fans like me and those curious about the world of acting.

Being Henry: The Fonz and Beyond

Being Henry: The Fonz and Beyond by Henry Winkler is an engaging memoir that takes readers on a journey through the life of the beloved actor known for his iconic role as Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli on Happy Days. In this candid and often humorous account, Winkler shares his experiences growing up, battling dyslexia, and finding his place in Hollywood. He reflects on the challenges and triumphs of his career, offering insights into the making of Happy Days and the impact of his character on popular culture. Beyond the fame, Winkler delves into his personal life, exploring themes of identity, perseverance, and the importance of authenticity. With his trademark charm and warmth, Winkler invites readers to celebrate not just his journey as an actor but also the lessons learned along the way. Curious to listen not only for my love of watching Happy Days growing up, but also Winkler’s tie to Wisconsin.

A Crown That Lasts: You Are Not Your Label

A Crown That Lasts: You Are Not Your Label by Demi-Leigh Tebow is an empowering memoir that delves into the life and journey of the former Miss Universe and philanthropist. In this inspiring narrative, Tebow shares her experiences of overcoming personal challenges and societal expectations, reminding readers that true identity transcends external labels. Through heartfelt anecdotes, she reflects on her upbringing, her passion for advocacy, and the importance of resilience and self-acceptance. Tebow emphasizes the value of embracing one’s unique journey and encourages others to find strength in their stories and in their faith in God. With a blend of vulnerability and positivity, this book serves as a beacon of hope, motivating readers to recognize their worth and pursue their dreams unapologetically.

Audiobook Memoirs I’ve Listened to and Enjoyed

I didn’t really realize that I often choose memoirs and how much I enjoy them until I was looking through my “want to listen” list and realized how many books from this genre were listed.

Then I looked back at what I had listened to over the past few years and was surprised to see so many memoirs in the library.

Reflecting on what I like about them, aside from their interesting lives and stories, I think that because the author is most often the narrator, it makes the telling feel so intimate and special, that is the top draw.

Here are some recent memoirs I’ve enjoyed.

All My Knotted Up Life: A Memoir

All My Knotted-Up Life: A Memoir by Beth Moore is a deeply personal exploration of the acclaimed author and Bible teacher’s journey through faith, struggle, and resilience. In this candid memoir, Moore reflects on the complexities of her life, sharing the challenges and triumphs that have shaped her both personally and spiritually. With vulnerability and honesty, she addresses the “knots” of life—moments of confusion, heartache, and growth—offering readers a glimpse into her transformative experiences. Through poignant storytelling, Moore weaves together themes of grace, healing, and the power of community, inspiring readers to embrace their own journeys and find hope in the midst of life’s uncertainties. This memoir not only showcases her unwavering faith but also serves as a testament to the strength found in vulnerability, making it a compelling read for anyone seeking encouragement and connection. Having enjoyed many of Beth’s Bible Studies over the years, this behind the scenes peek into her life was a heartfelt way to connect with her teachings even more.

Greenlights

Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey is a captivating memoir that offers an insightful glimpse into the life of the Academy Award-winning actor. I laughed my way through this unique narrative, as McConaughey shares his unconventional philosophy on life, which he describes through the metaphor of “greenlights”—those moments of affirmation and opportunity that propel us forward. Drawing from his often unbelieveable, personal stories, he reflects on his upbringing in Texas, his journey in Hollywood, and the lessons learned along the way, all infused with his signature wit and charisma. With a mix of humor, vulnerability, and deep introspection, McConaughey encourages readers to embrace their own paths, recognizing that challenges can lead to growth and self-discovery. This memoir is not just a look at his career but a profound exploration of identity and purpose, making it a compelling read for fans and anyone seeking inspiration in their own life journey. It’s a great choice for a road trip and one my husband and I both enjoyed listening to together.

Educated: A Memoir

Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover is a powerful and poignant exploration of one woman’s quest for knowledge and self-discovery against the backdrop of a strict and isolated upbringing. Growing up in a survivalist family in rural Idaho, Westover had no formal education until the age of 17, when she decided to pursue learning on her own terms. Through her remarkable journey, she recounts her struggles to break free from her family’s beliefs and the challenges she faced as she sought higher education, ultimately earning a PhD from the University of Cambridge. With raw honesty, Westover delves into themes of identity, family loyalty, and the transformative power of education, making her story both inspiring and thought-provoking. This memoir serves as a testament to resilience and the courage to forge one’s own path, resonating deeply with anyone who has ever questioned their circumstances or sought a better life

Brain on Fire

Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan is a gripping memoir that chronicles the author’s harrowing journey through a mysterious illness that nearly cost her life. As a young journalist, Cahalan suddenly found herself grappling with a range of alarming symptoms—hallucinations, seizures, and memory loss—that led to a misdiagnosis of various mental health disorders. Through her compelling narrative, she vividly recounts her descent into madness and the relentless pursuit of a diagnosis that ultimately revealed a rare autoimmune disease affecting her brain. With courage and clarity, Cahalan explores the fragility of the mind, the stigma surrounding mental health, and the importance of advocacy in the medical field. This powerful memoir not only sheds light on her personal battle but also serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, making it a must-read for anyone interested in the complexities of the brain and the journey to reclaim one’s identity. Sharing this book on my social media several years ago actually saved a life when a doctor friend heard about it, read it and then encountered a patient with symptoms similar!

The Boys

The Boys: A Memoir of Hollywood and Family by Ron Howard and Clint Howard is an engaging and heartfelt look at the lives of two brothers who grew up in the entertainment industry. With Ron’s iconic career as a director and actor and Clint’s own experiences as a character actor, the memoir intertwines their personal and professional stories, offering a candid glimpse into Hollywood’s golden era and beyond. Through humorous anecdotes and poignant reflections, the Howard brothers share their unique family dynamics, the challenges of navigating fame, and the enduring bond that has shaped their lives. Readers will find a rich tapestry of memories, from their childhood experiences on set to the lessons learned from their parents in the world of show business. This memoir not only celebrates their individual journeys but also highlights the importance of family support, resilience, and the joy of storytelling, making it a delightful listen narrated by both brothers.

Extreme Ownership

Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin is a powerful guide to leadership and personal accountability, rooted in the authors’ experiences as Navy SEAL officers. Drawing on lessons from their military service in Iraq, Willink and Babin present a philosophy of extreme ownership, emphasizing that leaders must take full responsibility for their actions and the outcomes of their teams. The book is structured around compelling anecdotes from combat situations, each illustrating key principles of effective leadership, teamwork, and decision-making. Even though I have no military background, I found the listen insightful and interesting. Through practical strategies and insights, the authors demonstrate how these military lessons can be applied to business and everyday life. This engaging and motivational listen challenges readers to adopt a mindset of ownership and discipline, ultimately inspiring them to lead with confidence and integrity in any environment.

Hillbilly Elegy

Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance is a poignant exploration of the struggles faced by working-class Americans in the Appalachian region. Through his personal story, Vance recounts his upbringing in a troubled family marked by poverty, addiction, and societal challenges. He reflects on his experiences growing up in Middletown, Ohio, and the cultural influences that shaped his identity and values. As he navigates the complexities of his family dynamics, Vance offers a candid look at the broader issues affecting rural communities, including economic decline and social disconnection. With a blend of memoir and sociological insight, Hillbilly Elegy serves as both a personal narrative and a critical examination of the factors contributing to the struggles of a once-proud culture. This thought-provoking book resonates with readers seeking to understand the complexities of American life and the resilience required to overcome adversity.

Spare

Spare by Prince Harry is a deeply personal memoir that offers an unprecedented glimpse into the life of the Duke of Sussex. In this candid account, Harry reflects on his experiences growing up in the royal family, the complexities of fame, and the profound impact of loss, particularly following the death of his mother, Princess Diana. He shares intimate stories about his struggles with mental health, his desire for authenticity, and his journey to break free from the constraints of royal expectations. Through his powerful narrative, Harry addresses his motivations for stepping back from royal duties and his commitment to finding a life that aligns with his values. With vulnerability and honesty, Spare invites readers to understand the man behind the title, shedding light on the personal battles and triumphs that have shaped his path, ultimately advocating for compassion and understanding in a world often defined by scrutiny.

The Wisdom of the Bullfrog

The Wisdom of the Bullfrog: Leadership Made Simple by Admiral William H. McRaven is an insightful exploration of leadership principles drawn from the author’s extensive military career, particularly his experiences as a Navy SEAL. I enjoy books that inspire me personally and professionally and Admiral McRaven’s book, Make Your Bed, is one of my favorites so I knew I would enjoy another of his as well. In this engaging and accessible book, McRaven shares valuable lessons learned from his time in the field, using the metaphor of the bullfrog to illustrate key traits of effective leaders, such as resilience, adaptability, and the importance of teamwork. Each chapter offers practical wisdom, accompanied by personal anecdotes that highlight the challenges and triumphs of leadership in high-stakes situations. McRaven emphasizes that true leadership is not about power or authority but about serving others and fostering a strong, cohesive team. With clarity and inspiration, The Wisdom of the Bullfrog serves as a guide for anyone seeking to enhance their leadership skills, making it relevant for both military and civilian audiences alike.

MAKING TIME TO READ

Finding time to read may seem hard, but there are ways I have found to fit it in without it feeling like a must do.

One day I realized, I actually have a way to read a variety of titles over the year and fit in the varied genres I like to read.

I’m able to read four books a month with my strategy, usually more, in a way I really enjoy.

Sometimes I have more time to read and sometimes the season of life I’m in that month, leaves me with less time than I hoped. But that’s ok, I just read the best I can and give myself grace. It’s not a checklist, its for adding joy into my life and helping me grow.

Books have always been a part of my life, and I treasure what they provide for me- relaxation, encouragement, knowledge, entertainment and so much more.

Here’s what I’m reading now.

QUIET TIME BOOK

For my last quiet time book I read From Where I Stand by Shanna Noel & Sherri Gragg.

Each morning I enjoy quiet moments with my Bible, my journal and a devotional or faithful living book.

With this choice I read a chapter and day. That lets me easily have time to read the entire book in the month and have time to meditate on what I’ve read and dive into the scripture from the reading.

This month I am reading Whatever Happens: How to Stand Firm in Your Faith When the World is Falling Apart by Robert J. Morgan.

Whatever Happens by Robert J. Morgan

My friend and local Bible Study leader recommended this book to me and I am so glad she did!

What an encouragement the book has been to me! With the title I wasn’t sure if I would resonate with the lessons inside because I personally don’t look at the world as if it’s falling apart, even with the things that are going so wrong.

But I couldn’t have been more excited as I started reading. Each small chapter takes pieces of Paul’s letter to the Phillipians and shares biblical history, connected stories and practical applications for living life fully for Christ.

Phillipians has always been one of my favorite books of the Bible, and I have been learning so much from Pastor Morgan that I never knew before.

That’s what I love so much about the Bible. It is truly alive and to me that means that it has a personal message every single day. Something that I may have read before will speak to me in a different way each time.

Read Whatever Happens with me!

FOR THE LOVE OF READING

Last month I read These Tangled Threads.

This month I’m reading Where Trees Touch the Sky by Karen Barnett.

Karen is one of my favorite authors. I’ve loved reading the books in her Vintage National Park series. Each one takes place in the past in one of our National Parks.

There’s romance, a bit of mystery and a lot to learn about the park the stories are set in.

As a former Park Ranger, Karen brings her first hand knowledge into each story.

The California Redwoods are being destroyed at a rapid pace in the 1920s and Marion Baker is determined to do something about it. Fifty years later her grand niece June is proud of the legacy Marion has left. June becomes a ranger in Redwood National Park despite a disability that has her using a crutch on the trails. When she meets a film maker who wants to share the story of Marion’s life the two unearth a secret that may shatter the family legacy!

Read Where Trees Touch the Sky with me!

CHORE TIME BOOK

Last month I listened to When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin.

This month I’m listening to He Should Have Told the Bees by Amanda Cox.

Beckett Walsh is living her dream working with her as a beekeeper.

When her father dies suddenly a past full of secrets comes to life as someone Beckett has never heard of becomes part owner of the apiary with her.

Callie, the new co-owner is just as confused having never heard of Beckett’s father, but sees this inheritance as an opportunity to get some money for her own fledgling business so decides she wants to sell.

I’m excited to read and see if their complex relationship actually brings them both unexpected blessings!

MAKING TIME TO READ

Finding time to read may seem hard, but there are ways I have found to fit it in without it feeling like something on my to do list.

I love to read many genres of books, for different reasons.

One day I realized, I actually have a strategy for how I was making room for a variety of titles.

The way I approach reading lets me read at least four books a month, usually more, in a way I really enjoy.

How to Fit in Reading

Each month, I love sharing with you what I’ll be reading so you can read along with me or get ideas for what to read next.

My life goes through seasons where sometimes I have more time to read, and some where I don’t. I’m sure you can relate.

But books have always been a part of my life, and I treasure what they provide for me- relaxation, encouragement, knowledge, entertainment and so much more.

So here’s the natural flow of reading that works for me.

QUIET TIME BOOK

For my last quiet time book I read From Where I Stand by Shanna Noel & Sherri Gragg.

I’m able to fit in more books some months when I stick to my schedule of reading a chapter each weekday.

This month I am reading Closer Than Your Next Breath by Susie Larson.

Susie writes some of my favorite devotions and I get so much encouragement in the reading! She’s also a podcaster, speaker and radio host so there are many ways to follow and learn from her.

A friend gifted me her book, Prevail, and it has been an encouraging part of my morning quiet time ever since.

Each morning I take time to pray, read my Bible and read a chapter of my Quiet Time book.

Starting my day this way truly gives me a foundation to get my heart and mindset right before heading into the day.

In Closer Than Your Next Breath, Susie shares how we can boldly walk in our faith, expecting the Holy Spirit to draw near to us as we draw near to Him. We may believe in our minds that God is all things, powerful, knowing, and present, but what about when we can’t feel how close he is? She gives encouragement for experiencing God’s love, even when we feel far away from Him and how we can grow in trust.

Read Closer Than Your Next Breath with me!

Guess what? I wrote a book and it comes out October 1st! It’s available now for preorder online!

Preorders really help get the book into more hands so your early order helps greatly.

So many of you have already ordered and I appreciate it so much!

Adventure Awaits by Kristin Lenz

The whole journey to this moment has been amazing and I can’t wait to see it on store shelves soon where women can connect with the message of encouragement to live fully in the gifts God has give each of us.

WAIT TIME BOOK

In my last book club post I was reading Onward: How Starbucks Fought for Its Life without Losing Its Soul by Howard Schultz

This month I’m reading a book I highly recommend for everyone to read whether you are a parent or not, The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt.

Typically my wait time books are for business or personal motivation, books that I can set down and pick up easily.

I highlight in these books and take notes, so I don’t tend to listen to these on audio.

Many of us have worried about the rises in mental illnesses we hear about or have maybe experienced personally with children and teens we know. Social Psychologist, Jonathan Haidt shares facts shared across the world about how the nature of childhood has changed in The Anxious Generation . In the 1980s “play-based childhood” began declining and with “phone-based childhood” in the early 2010s, it has been almost wiped out.

This book was easy to understand, brought out great issues, but he also includes a clear call to action giving the suggestion of four simple rules that can make a change for the better. He gives steps that parents, teachers, schools, tech companies, and governments can take if working together “to end the epidemic of mental illness and restore a more humane childhood.”

This book would make a great: book club read and discussion.

FOR THE LOVE OF READING

Last month I read The Forest of Vanishing Stars by Kristin Harmel.

This month I’m reading These Tangled Threads by Sarah Loudin Thomas.

A hidden betrayal scattered three young friends seven years ago as they live in the shadow of Biltmore, the stunning Vanderbilt mansion.

In 1924, when Biltmore Industries Lorna Blankenship, their master weaver, is commissioned to create an original design for Cornelia Vanderbilt’s wedding, she knows she doesn’t have the creativity needed.

She knows there’s an artisan in the Blue Ridge Mountains who could help.

To track down the elusive weaver Lorna must seek out relationships she left behind.

As she pulls at each tangled thread from her past, Lorna is forced to confront the wounds and regrets of life long ago. She’ll have to risk the job that shapes her identity, as well as the hope of friendship–and love–restored.

The novel delves into the complexities of relationships, weaving together themes of faith and grace amidst personal trials and societal pressures.

Sarah Loudin Thomas is known for her heartfelt storytelling and her ability to depict the rich tapestry of human emotions within a historical setting.

Read These Tangled Threads with me!

CHORE TIME BOOK

Last month I listened to The River We Remember by William Kent Krueger.

This month I’m listening to When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin.

My chore time books are always on audio, because I can put in my earbuds, push play and get lost in my work while listening.

It makes my cleaning, gardening or drive time so much faster and more enjoyable.

I actually look forward to my to do list because I can’t wait to hear what happens next!

I was excited to start this book because I have enjoyed so many of Charles Martin’s books.

In When Crickets Cry a man and young girl share a journey toward healing for both of them deep in their hearts.

From the backdrop of a s sleepy Southern town Charles Martin weaves a story of how miracles show up in unexpected ways.

Southern Living chose it as a book of the month selection and said, “Charming characters and twists that keep the pages turning.” —Southern Living
