The beginning of November as Halloween decorations get put away, we always decorate for Thanksgiving and I begin to plan for Christmas. I always start by going back through photos of what I’ve done in the past. Here are some of my favorite ideas I’ve done before.

Mantel Decor
One of the favorite ways I’ve decorated my mantel in the past was to hang the stockings on the sides and hang glittery snowflake ornaments in the middle under a swag of pheasant feathers. See more of this mantel here.
Curb Appeal
I love to decorate inside and outside for the Holidays. Last year I decorated this lake house for Christmas and my little red bistro table got some special attention. It easily became festive with a lantern and greens with a plaid bow and a few cute pillows. See the full porch tour here.
Baking Traditions
When I was growing up every Christmas we would make sugar cookies with these red cookie cutters. They have now become vintage and I am able to find them in local antique shops and add to my collection and to my memories.
An Advent Reading
I love having a book during Advent that gives me a little bit to read each day and focus on the Reason for the Season. Last Christmas I read Max Lucado’s Because of Bethlehem.
Simple Trees
I love when one of my dreams turns out better than I even hoped! I had the idea to put undecorated, lit flocked trees in my summer green pots. I flanked them on the sides of the fireplace and they were magical. See more here.
Tree Parade
My collection of green and white trees is always one of my favorite things to pull out each season. Last year I used them as the centerpiece down the middle of the table. See more of the home tour here.
Read Alouds
We have favorite books to read together each Christmas. We love to keep them out in a basket to grab and read before bed or any time. See more of my holiday kids’ spaces here.
Seasonal Bedding
I love to add a few special pillows and a duvet of Christmas plaid to our bed.
Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree
I love listening to vintage Christmas records on my record player. Find my favorite holiday playlists in this post.
Christmas Dishes
When I was a little girl, my God Father started a tradition by giving me a piece of Spode Christmas China every year. It was such a special gift and means the world to me now. See how to carry on the tradition yourself here.
Relax and Enjoy
The main thing I try to do is relax and take in all the moments and memory making.
