Kristin Lenz shares creative ways to use some of her favorite vintage pieces as vases for fresh and faux flowers.
I love to pick up flowers from the grocery store or farmer’s market to bring home and freshen up our home. Are you the same way? What are your favorites? White, red or yellow roses end up in my cart most often, but I love anything seasonal and mixes of greenery and blooms too.
This Love It beverage crate was a favorite find last year! I don’t have a lot of Valentine’s Day decor so this box steals the show! To hold the flowers upright I have six water glasses inside filled 3/4 full of water. Kristin Lenz shares creative ways to use some of her favorite vintage pieces as vases for fresh and faux flowers. The colors of this Fiesta Jug captured me right away! I was so excited to find it in a local antique shop. I’m loving how these happy tulips look inside!
My vintage thermos get used as vases probably the most. I have a wide variety of colors and sizes so they are easy to pair for the seasons or parties.
Faux stems work beautifully too and are so easy. No water! Mixing feathers and greenery is a great way to add height and texture to an arrangement.
These unique Gerbera daisy’s were fun to find this summer and display in my blue metal picnic basket on the back patio.
Dropping potted mums into vintage containers is such an easy way to decorate in the Fall!
I loved setting up this tea party with baby roses in my plaid tins.
Spring greens and the first plants of the season brighten up the guest house porch inside a stack of vintage picnic baskets.
I love collecting McCoy pottery. All the colors and styles are fun to have my eye out for when I’m at vintage markets or antique shops. A hobnail ice bucket works great for holding blooms too.
When using vintage containers as vases the opportunities for creativity and combinations is endless. Share some of your favorites arrangements with me over on Facebook.

I love all the creative ways you have displayed flowers! Those thermoses! I have always wanted to have an event outside in October and I think a thermos themed is in order. Have a great day!

I really love the charm of using “odd” containers as vases, especially when they’re paired so well that they really make the flowers pop!
