Christmas decor inspiration from the Wisconsin Northwoods on this Christmas Home Tour.
I’m so excited to welcome you to our home, Camp Paradise. Our full log cabin sits lakeside in an area of Northern Wisconsin known as The Northwoods. We are surrounded by lakes and forests. We have over 3200 bodies of water! This makes it a very popular vacation destination. And Winter is just as fun as Summer.
In the winter we typically get around 100 inches of snow! This year is crazy though (as if we already didn’t know that!) we don’t have any snow! Here’s what it usually looks like on our driveway.
If you are coming over from Duke Manor Farm, I know you were as inspired as I was by Laura’s Holiday decor!

Thanks so much to Marty of A Stroll Thru Life for organizing this amazing week of tours! Each day this week five homes have given tours to inspire you! You can find a full list and links of all those participating at the bottom of this post so you won’t miss a thing!
It is amazing to live here all year round, but during Christmas time our home is even more cozy, magical and fun!
I love decorating with a mix of vintage and new both inside and outside our cabin. You are greeted right away on the front porch by vintage baskets and boxes full of presents. The pillow not only fits the Holiday season, but it’s phrase is perfect for the gorgeous scenery surrounding our home. Nature inspires me so much in my decorating.
Another thing you will find a lot of in our home is plaid. I love mixing up lots of different patterns.
The dining room is set and ready for a Christmas dinner. See more of our table tour in this post.
You’ll notice I love to decorate with several trees around the house. I love to add one in our Lake room. It’s the room off our back patio where you head out the doors and down the path to the lake. It has a nautical theme. Here’s the tree I did last year in the room. I used a small tree and just simple bobbers for ornaments.
This year I did a big tree and used a life preserver, arrows, birch ribbon and woodland ornaments.
Pinecones, birch, driftwood, greenery. All the nature from the woods outdoors inspires my decor inside too, like this vintage box. See more of this easy to design vignette in this post.
I love to decorate with decor I have collected for over 20 years, sprinkled with a few new pieces each year and some DIYs. I love craft projects that are simple with a small list of materials and only take a few minutes, but look fancy and beautiful like this glass jar scene and these plaid candles.
See more of how I put together this little DIY here.
And how I turned plain candles plaid here.
And I love the simplicity of stacked baskets and a box full of shiny ornaments!
This year our mantel got a ski theme and new white and black buffalo plaid stockings. See more of our mantel in this post.
Life is cozy in the cabin from the second you wake up and enjoy a hot cup of coffee to the lamp lit evenings by the fire. See more of our Holiday Coffee Bar here.
Even with soaring ceilings and giant windows our Great Room is the coziest in the cabin.
Our kitchen is so fun to decorate for Christmas too!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you will become a regular here! Next, you are off to Thrifty and Chic. You will love her beautiful tour!

As always, your home is amazing. That majestic view of the vaulted ceilings and those fabulous windows caught my breath. I don’t think I have seen that view before. Each area of our home is so full of beautiful Northwood detail and fabulous vignettes. You always create the most inviting spaces and pay such attention to every detail. I love it all. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season. Stunning.

That life preserver tree is just perfect! I always love seeing how you mix your awesome vintage finds into your decor. I’m sorry you don’t have snow yet because your home NEEDS snow, but it will arrive soon I’m sure. Thanks for sharing your cozy home with us!

Kristin,
Your home is fabulous all year long, but it becomes magical at Christmas! How about sending some of that snow to SC! We are in the upper NW of the state so close to the NC mountains. We usually get 1 snow a year.
