Happy Fall! If you are coming over from Anna Kat’s home tour at Victoria Lee Home, welcome to The Northwoods of Wisconsin and our log cabin. Wasn’t her tour beautiful? I just love her home and all her gorgeous style!
I’m excited to share how our home is Touched by Fall decor. Warm tones of orange, brown and golden yellow bring the colors of the changing leaves outside our lakeside cabin to the autumn decor inside. When decorating our indoor spaces for fall I love to bring in natural elements like pheasant feathers, antlers, berries and leaves and of course pumpkins and guards. I make sure every seat has a blanket to curl up in as the weather turns crisp and cool.
When decorating outdoors, where the weather is getting cooler, I like to bring a bit of my inside decor outside adding color with throw pillows and coziness with blankets to curl up in. Warm drinks to sip and savor or glasses of wine out on the dock to end the day, come along as I share a peak of our home, Camp Paradise, with you.
The Great Room
One of my favorite places to decorate is our mantle. I usually leave up my everyday mantle pieces like my wooden oar, lumberjack print, brass moose and pine cone candle holders, and just layer in seasonal items of Autumn decor.
This garland of berries and leaves adds a lot of texture to our carved mantle (affectionately called the breadstick around our home.) The pine cone candle holders were the unity candles from our wedding so I love keeping them on display. I chose the burgundy color used in the garland to match my taper candles. They add nice color against the stone.
The barn wood frame on the right side of the mantle had been sitting against the wall in my laundry room waiting for a craft project I have on my to do list. When I was trying to think of what I had around the house to give some height and balance to the right side I saw this frame and thought it’s rustic wood was perfect. The frame is from Hobby Lobby.
One of my favorite vintage collections is these green glass vases that I have been collecting for years. I filled them with a variety of faux sprays of feathers. berries and leaves. I found the sprays at Hobby Lobby in their Autumn decor aisles.
One of our cozy ready spots in the cabin is this tufted leather library chair that looks out to our lake view and the falling leaves. This forest green corduroy footstool is one of my all time favorite HomeGoods finds.
I brought one of my Pier 1 galvanized lanterns inside and transitioned it from Summer to Autumn by taking out the candle and filling it with pumpkins and guards. A cranberry box turned upside down makes a great side table. It’s cranberry season here in The Northwoods.
To read more about the cranberry harvest visit my friends Becca and Elizabeth of Northerly Collective. They share all kinds of goodness about life around our Northwoods community of Manitowish Waters.

The Back Deck
Next, on the fall home tour, just outside the Great Room is our back deck over looking the backyard and the lake. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy coffee in the mornings. The vintage style gliders are quickly dressed up with a few throw pillows and plaid throws.
These green and white garden stools are Better Homes & Gardens Collection from Walmart.
A few of my colorful McCoy pots hold mums and Rosemary on a side table.
On the other side of the deck I moved up our two chaise lounge chairs from the yard to a new spot perfect for fall star gazing in the evenings or relaxing and catching up with a friend.
When one of my girlfriends come to visit we love to sit, relax and catch up while reading magazines and sharing ideas we love in their pages for our homes. The middle table holds a wreath I laid down flat and set a lantern in the middle. A simple glass of ice water becomes a treat when served in pretty vintage glasses with fun paper straws.

On the Dock
There is nothing as peaceful as sitting by the edge of the water listening to the loons and lapping waves against the shore. Most days a Bald Eagle or two fly up above, boaters cruise by and wave hello, neighbors kayak by and stop to chat, and a gorgeous sunset makes a perfect evening.
Next on the Touch of Fall Home Tour is my friend Meeghan of Caligirl in a Southern World. You will love her blog and find so much inspiration for your own fall decor.
