Life in the woods, far from the big city is perfect for a country Christmas in the cabin.
I’m so excited to be joining my friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life for another Christmas Home Tour! These tours run a week long with seven bloggers sharing each day. Find links to each tour at the bottom of this post. Each home is so inspiring!
Here are links to a few of my past tours:

If you are coming over from Cuckoo4Design then welcome to our cozy cabin home in The Northwoods of Wisconsin where it is cold and snowy. That means the coziness inside is extra important.
We keep a fire roaring and blankets scattered around and enjoy the twinkle lights of Christmas.
Each year my Christmas decor is mostly my treasured favorite pieces with just a few new things added in.
The Entryway
When you walk in the front door you are greeted by Buddy the Bear. He was carved by a local chainsaw artist. He’s sporting a plaid Santa hat for the Holidays.
Above our cubbies sits my collection of antique red lanterns. This year for Christmas they are joined by some greenery, a little sign and vintage toy truck with a tree added to the top. (such an easy DIY!)
The Great Room
The mantel is one of my favorite places to decorate! This year the highlight for me are the new quilted stockings I got from VHC Brands.
We have two trees up this year. One in the corner between The Great Room and Dining Room and one by our big windows. The tree skirts are new and coordinate with our stockings. They are also from VHC Brands.
I also got several super cute pillows from VHC Brands like this Jolly ruffled, gingham one.
On the coffee table I have a DIY buffalo plaid Christmas tree featured in American Farmhouse Style Magazine by Liberty. Read all about it and more inspiring buffalo plaid decor IN THIS POST.
The Bar
In the corner of The Great Room, by the bar I have one of my most unique antique pieces. It’s an old local ballot box. On top of it I keep a little vignette by my I Drink My Whiskey From a Teacup sign I got on a trip to Nashville with my Dad and Sister many years ago.
For Christmas a bottle brush tree replaced the succulent that was in the tea cup.
The Dining Room
I love to keep my table set for every day with a placemats, a runner and centerpiece. These placemats and runner are from one of my favorite online stores, VHC Brands.
From my collection of small trees, I chose to do sparkly reds, furry whites and buffalo plaid down the center of the table this year. A few votives are mixed in to add a glow in the evenings.
The Kitchen
We spend so much time in the kitchen and I love what a happy place it is. I have a family of cookie monsters and its fun to fill the cookie jar each Christmas. This cookie jar is vintage now! I got it as a wedding gift over 20 years ago. Friends threw me a party where everyone gifted me something from different months of the year. I got so many wonderful, creative gifts like this cookie jar from a friend who had December.
I keep my favorite candles from Antique Candle burning through the house too. Shop my favorites HERE.
The Sunroom
We never sit in the sunroom in Winter. Even though we have baseboard heat, it’s still just too cold. But because we can see into the space from the dining room, I love to have it looking beautiful this time of year.
I pulled out my new Skotch Kooler x Camp Wandawega jug and used it as a vase for some poinsettias. You can shop the new line of Skotch Kooler products from my store. Stop in and shop in Mincoqua, Wisconsin or shop online from anywhere.
Half Bath
My collection of vintage fishing creels are displayed in our guest half bath.
The Basement
At the bottom of the stairs into the basement our Northwoods Santa is there to great you. There’s a copper pot full of giant pinecones and a vintage Skotch Kooler makes a perfect tree stand.
The Garage
I love how my red berry wreath pops against the green of the garage door. I added a buffalo plaid ribbon with long tails. My pots that are full of red geraniums in Summer and mums and pumpkins in Fall are replaced with birch for Winter.
